Planning to spend your weekend in Turin but have no idea where to go? Lucky for you we asked a local girl about her favorite locations around town! You may have seen her on street style blogs like the Sartorialist, Mr Newton… or on her fashion blog. Eleonora Carisi, owner of YouYou Store and fashion designer at What’s Inside You, is one of today’s major Italian fashion figures. She tells us her favorite spots in Turin.

http://www.joujouvilleroy.com/
http://instagram.com/eleonoracarisi

– to shop and be creative …

You You Store
It’s been a while, almost ten years since I opened my shop in the center of Turin: You You!
A small boutique where you can find up-and-coming stylists, creations from all over the world, and inspiration for you and your look. It’s the right place if you want to feel a fresh and creative vibe and…you can also find me!

Piazza Vittorio Veneto 12f

– to have the best agnolotti in town

Fratelli Bruzzone
A new grocery concept behind my store and near the center, too. Warm and familiar, you can eat real handmade Italian food made by the Bruzzone brothers or take it to go. Try the handmade agnolotti, so good with meat sauce or with butter!

Via Maria Vittoria 32
www.fratellibruzzone.com

-hanging out with your best friend in spring/summer

Piazza Vittorio

Maybe you don’t know where to go but you want to just stay out drinking and having an aperitif. It’s spring, and the sun is up until 8 pm so don’t miss the chance to try all the nice places in the big square Piazza Vittorio, full of bars with music, and outside, with young people and a great view of the hill and the river. A good place to meet your friends before dinner.

-a floral thought

Niche maison
http://www.nichemaison.it

For me it’s not a good day if I don’t decorate my home with flowers. Sometimes you don’t need to wait for somebody so I buy them for myself. I’m in love with pink roses, tulips, and peonies. The best place is Niche, a very small boutique near the shopping center via Roma with a special garden of love where you can find the best flowers ever. Inside the shop there is a great choice of Sicilian fragrances for your body and your home.

Via Giovanni Giolitti, 2

-it’s sushi time

Kombu
It’s not a great night for me if I cannot have sushi! Sushi is my fave food before or after a great movie.
You can take it easy ordering from home or you can also try one of the five Kombu around the city. Try the Uramaki special and the combos. You never know if the owners will give your name to an uramaki!

Corso Dante Alighieri, 127-131

If there’s an A-list party in Los Angeles, odds are huge that Myles Hendrik is DJing! He recently DJed at movie industry parties for the Oscars, the Emmys, the Golden Globes, and the Grammys, and for fashion parties including Vogue and W Magazine. He tells us about his 5 favorite spots in Los Angeles: watching movies in a cemetery, beaches, flea markets, parties… 5 good reasons to spend a weekend in LA.

http://www.myleshendrik.com/www-myles/

1. Beachwood Canyon / Griffith Park

A simple hike from my house with my two dogs and I’m in one of Griffth Park’s amazing canyon’s overlooking all of L.A. and beyond. A park of this scale, beauty and stillness with deer and hawks flying overhead right in my back yard. It’s incredible.

The marriage of a major metropolis at the very edge of so much still untamed wilderness is what makes this city so special.

2. Chateau Marmont

It doesn’t get much better or more iconic than this place. A favorite dinner, drink location. Classy. Classic. Timeless.

8221 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood
http://www.chateaumarmont.com/

3. Movies at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

At first thought, this might sound like a creepy scenario: Picnicing under the stars watching classic films in Hollywood’s oldest cemetery, but it’s actually amazing. Every summer, Cinespia curates a series of films that’ve run the gamut from “Vertigo” to “Pointbreak”,

“Psycho” to “Clueless”. Relaxing on an expansive lawn with friends, drinking wine, eating pizza under the stars, whilst watching “The Lost Boys” with Jayne Mansfield, Rudolph Valentino and Dee Dee and Johnny Ramone nearby… only in L.A.

6000 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles
http://www.hollywoodforever.com/

4. The Rose Bowl Flea Market

On the second Sunday of every month, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena is turned into arguably one of the biggest (and coolest) flea markets anywhere. An absolute Los Angelean staple.

You’ll find literally anything you want to buy and many more things you never thought of buying. Some of my most prized possessions have come from this place.

(Not including my girlfriend Leah (seen here) trying out a vintage flute)

1001 Rose Bowl Dr, Pasadena

5. El Capitain Beach, Malibu

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention a special beach location because most people come to Los Angeles for the weather and the beach. This gem is tiny and secluded. Perfectly away from the masses that abound the more typical beach locations like Venice and Santa Monica Beach.

A heavenly way to spend a Sunday.

Born English but now Parisian, Vanessa is the creator of Messy Nessy Chic, a blog that takes us on a nostalgic road trip to curious places, past and present, meeting people along the way with stories to tell that you’ve never heard before. She has given us the inside scoop on the places where she likes to hang out in Paris !

http://www.messynessychic.com/

For a night where anything goes … Le Fanfaron

I’ll call this my always, anytime, anyday bar. Buried in the back alleys of Ledru Rollin, candles drip all over Mexican religious folk art and the walls are like a museum of vintage concert posters. The owner & bar tender is always playing his own Jimmy Hendrix vinyls and having steamy arguments with his girlfriends. This guy has stories to tell. Order “le Destroyeur” or try his melon beer.

Le Fanfaron / 6 Rue de la Main d’Or, 75011 Paris

For a cheap date…Dong Huong

A legendary Vietnamese cantine in Belleville, run by the same family for 20 years who all have a thing for dressing like American gangsters from the 1940s. The menu has pictures, the plates are plastic but this is the best Pho in Paris and for some reason, it just feels like home.

Dong Huong / 14 Rue Louis Bonnet, 75011 Paris

For a not-so-cheap date … L’Etage (de Pastavino) A secret Italian weapon hidden up a staircase at the back of a deli.

L’Etage (de Pastavino) 8 Rue de Buci, 75006 Paris

For Sundays down the rabbit hole … La Petite Ceinture (via the Mama Shelter)

Look for the animals peeping over the wall on Rue Florian (the tiny street opposite Philippe Starck’s Mama Shelter Hotel) and you’ll find a big grey gate that’s usually (hopefully) unlocked. Proceed to tiptoe/ skip/ dance down the train tracks of La Petite Ceinture, a surviving relic of a bygone era, closed since 1934. Afterwards, have cocktails on the Mama Shelter terrace overlooking the railroad where you were just trespassing.

For digging through Paris’ past … Marché Dauphine

Rummaging through archives in the Marché Dauphine is kind of addictive. You can lose hours here, flicking through anything from 1930s pornography for framing in your toilet to vintage luggage labels to revive your leathers.

Marché Dauphine / 134 Rue des Rosiers, 93400 Saint-Ouen

For hanging with Hemingway .. L’Ecurie

Near Hemingway’s old apartment in the Latin Quarter, you’ll find a restaurant that looks like it’s been there since the Belle Epoque. You get a three course déjeuner for €11 and the bartender (who kinda looks a bit like old Hem) has no qualms about you having a long boozy lunch.

L’Ecurie / 2 Rue Laplace, 75005 Paris

Twelve years ago Axel Huynh founded CRAZYBABY!, an agency organizing “hot couture” events in domains including luxury fashion and media. Always bringing originality and innovation to the agency’s events, Axel has worked with brands such as Fiat, Pernod, and Smalto.
Today we discussed his favorite places in Paris.

For an organic brunch…

Chez Saturne, the Swedish chef Sven Chartier’s restaurant: an ethereal cuisine from fresh products, served in a minimal, cozy decor. Unexpected food and wine pairings; a rare and unique taste!

RESTAURANT SATURNE

17, rue Notre-Dame des Victoires – 75002 Paris
01.42.60.31.90

To have your head in a book: 0fr…

Buy a photography book by Guy bourdin or Erwin Blumenfeld while savoring a cup of tea brewed to order.

LIBRAIRIE OFR
20, rue Dupetit-Thouars (Carreau du Temple) 75003 Paris
01 42 45 72 88

For swimming…

La Piscine Pontoise, for the 1930’s decoration. I organized a water ballet there for the launch of Evian by Jean Paul Gaultier

PISCINE PONTOISE
19, rue de Pontoise 75005 PARIS
01 55 42 77 88

For a drink in the early evening…

Le Bar Artisan… It’s the new spot imagined by Frédéric Le Bordays, a good place to savor a “Green Beast” cocktail made of Pernod absinthe; it’s an ultra cozy, welcoming place, just as we like… I love the very authentic vibe and the crowd, which is very eclectic but “bon esprit”.

BAR ARTISAN
14, rue de Bochart de Saron 75009 Paris
01 48 74 65 38

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Paris…

Le Pacifique à Belleville: I love their famous steamed “Dim Sum” specialties–they are the best in Paris…

RESTAURANT PACIFIQUE
35, Rue de Belleville, 75019 Paris

For the pleasure of the eyes…

Find exceptional pieces at the gallery owned by interior designer Stéphane Olivier, rue de l’Université in the 7th. A friend who revisits classic pieces from the 1950’s, adding a very contemporary vision, especially with curious objects found in all corners of the world, which he puts together with originality and balance.

GALERIE STÉPHANE OLIVIER
3, rue de l’Université – 75007 Paris.

To dance a Madison…

On the tango floor of “La Boite à frissons” for it’s friendly, varied vibe. Le Madison is recovering its past glory there…

CLUB LE TANGO

Lolita is a very simple, sweet & charming Parisian girl. After studying Fine Art at Central St Martins in London and assisting fashion editors at a few magazines, she’s now working as an artistic director in style at the “Atelier Franck Durand.”

She deals with shows, campaigns, and many other exciting projects. Not only has she helped famous brands to create their ad campaigns, but she also inspires designer Alix Petit (Heimstone’s artistic director) and star blogger Garance Doré.

On top of that, she’s currently modeling for Burberry, as well as for more confidential brands like Coperni, Jacquemus.

She also appears in Glamour and Vogue as an it-girl and a socialite. Between fashion week and a lot of work, I met her at Palais Royal to discover her favorite spots.

Le Perchoir / 14 Rue Crespin du Gast //Paris 11

During the summer, this rooftop is great: quite cozy and the vibe is very chill. Although I tried to watch the 14th of July fireworks there this year, and a building hides the Eiffel Tower, so it was a huge failure.

Le Dauphin / 131 Avenue Parmentier //Paris 11

Delicious. A bit hard to hear yourself talking because of the many mirrors and marble everywhere.

The bonus point : The owner is really cool and knows good wine.

Chez Lipp / 151 Boulevard Saint-Germain //Paris 6

I like the idea that when you live in the neighborhood they recognize you and find you a seat near the entrance, at the very heart of the hustle and bustle.

Le Café Telescope / 5 Rue Villedo //Paris 1

My friend Nicolas owns this bar, and it’s my favorite spot, although I don’t drink coffee. I am his worst customer. The coffee is the best in Paris (I’ve been told). The little concerts downstairs are the cherry on top.

Musée de la vie romantique // 16 Rue Chaptal //Paris 9

It’s a museum I really enjoy. Plus there’s a very peaceful café in the garden.

Le Jardin du Luxembourg // Paris 6

I am a Left Bank girl, so it’s no surprise if I tell you I hang out there a lot.

I like the small spots where you can be alone and observe, like the chess players’ area. You get to hear everything that happens in the neighborhood as there are only locals around.

Broken-Arm // 12 Rue Perrée //Paris 3

The selection of clothes and magazines is pretty sharp. The café is so well decorated and bright, plus they serve very good food and the menu is very versatile. I particularly like this place because you can find some of the clothes created by my friend Simon Porte Jacquemus.

Le Montana // 28 Rue St Benoit //Paris 6

I basically like this place because I live down the street. But most of the time I prefer small parties with my friends in my flat.

Simple, practical lines are the signature style of the clothes designed by David Sarfati for his 13 Bonaparte brand. With a shop that opened at the end of 2012 (2 bis de la rue de Normandie) and a new collection in the works, David took a few minutes to share with us his favorite spots in Paris.

http://www.13bonaparte.com/
2 bis rue de Normandie 75003 Paris

-Le comptoir de l’image /  44, rue de Sévigné Paris 3.

A really nice selection of photographers, old and rare editions. It’s always pleasant to discuss with Michel, the owner and himself a photographer–he is full of stories about the photographers he’s worked with. The place is very small and the books are in stacks, but it’s very well organized! I go there often for my research for my collections. The fun fact is that I often run into Xavier Cariou there, the photographer with whom I’ve been working since the creation of 13 Bonaparte.

– La cave de Vivant /Â 43, rue des Petites – Ecuries Paris 10.

Very small and narrow, but with a selection of great natural wines. The counter is pleasant and the decor is authentic.

– Toraya /Â 10 rue Saint Florentin Paris 1.

Calm. A nice green tea prepared by French press! Maybe even green tea-flavored chocolate and some sweets that are as nice to look at as they are to eat.

– Musée du jeu de Paume / 1 Place de La Concorde Paris 8.

Probably my favorite place in Paris. It’s a bubble in the middle of the bustle, as if time had stopped. I can spend hours there! My passion for photography brings me to visit this place regularly, often on Sunday and always with the same pleasure that comes from crossing the sublime Jardin des Tuileries. The bookstore has maybe one of the best selections in Paris. I spend hours there.

– Le Louxor, sa terrasse /Â 170 Bd Magenta Paris 10.

I discovered le Louxor while researching for my next collection. It has an amazing view, with the feeling of being somewhere else, which is vital in Paris. For me, as someone who loves to find inspiration from the urban panorama, it’s a luxury. Ethnic, mixed.

Rumors say we’re about to experience the coldest winter of the century, but this definitely won’t scare Joana Althabegoïty Vincens and Chloé Wilk Martin –the Supra showroom they run is indeed the warmest and most welcoming around. The girls have been working together for five years: passing by Surface to Air and now developing Supra’s vibe in France.

In the heart of fashion week, they share with us some of their favourite hangout places in Paris: which makes twice as much places to discover than usual!

http://www.suprafootwear.com/

Chloé

Buttes Chaumont
Well, I just enjoy chilling there, especially near the small lake. B.Y.O.B is the rule.

Chez Yu – 40 Rue de Belleville 75020 Paris
I guess I can call it my “cantine”. They serve a great banh mi sandwich…Order the “Special Yu” and it’s also a bargain.

L’entrée des Artistes – 8 Rue de Crussol 75011 Paris
This restaurant has the best wine selection, along with excellent cocktails. But I would actually recommend their whisky and their tasteful homgrown products.

Le Perchoir – 14 rue Crespin du Gast 75011 Paris
A stunning rooftop that is beginning to gain attention, pay a visit before it becomes permanently crowded…

Spa L’Echappée – 64, rue de la Folie Méricourt 75011 Paris
The glass roof makes this place unique and enjoyable. I usually brunch there, then go for the massage + hammam + exfoliation program! Simply essential.

My 3 staples:
– 1 Doliprane 1000
– The “Club chauffeur” app (on the iphone ready to go)
– A bunch of Supra lighters, because people smoke three times as much during fashion weeks and you never know who you are going to run into who needs a light..

Joana

Le Progr̬s Р1 Rue de Bretagne 75003 Paris
It feels like home, especially when sharing a bootle of rosé with friends!

Â

L’ilôt – 4, rue de la Corderie 75003 Paris
On this restaurant located on the famous “Carreau du Temple”, I usually order their awesome seafood platter and some white wine.

Le Parisien – 337 rue Saint-Martin, 75003 Paris
This futuristic restaurant belongs to the team from “Chez Jeannette” and is right by my street.

Caf̩ de la Poste Р64 Rue De Saintonge 75003 Paris
Many of my memories from Surface to Air are linked with this little bar on rue de Turenne!

Café Chinois – 7 Rue de Béarn 75003 Paris
Much of the Asian culinary savoir-faire is represented here. When I partied too hard, Ienjoy taking the next lunch here with my friends, to ease our conscience.

My 3 staples:
– My High heels for the night
– A pair of black SUPRA Owens for the day

She tells us today where she likes to chill, shop, party, and eat.

http://nathalieduchene.com/

Le Café de flore

Le Café de Flore is a safe bet–authentic, true and for me the real Saint Germain! You’re always running into friends there, and there’s always a lot happening if you take time to sit and watch. Perfect before a tour at le Montana!

Cafe de Flore /Â 172 Boulevard Saint-Germain

Broken Arm

A new concept store in le Marais–a place where you can buy the latest pair of Carven shoes or order le plat du jour made with love. A prominent spot near my place, in front of le Square du Temple–bright, avant garde, friendly. A good place to chill all afternoon.

The Broken Arm / 12 rue Perrée 75003

Le Silencio

After descending the strange staircase, guests at le Silencio are plunged into a very particular world, far from the usual Parisian cancans. I’m not just saying this because I mix there, but there is an excellent musical selection–very eclectic–which really varies according to the DJs.

Le Silencio /Â 142 rue Montmartre 75002

Le Beefclub

With its 60’s decor, and located in the heart of la rue Jean Jacques Rousseau, le Beefclub is THE only restaurant which makes me want to eat meat–English meat smoked and baked in a coal oven. A real delight!!!

Beefclub / 58, rue Jean Jacques Rousseau, 75001

Higuma

A succulent Japanese restaurant located on the rue Saint Anne, where we can savor ramen and the best gyozas in Paris (in my opinion)! The decor resembles that of a big canteen, but the contents of my plate make me forget any snobbishness of the decor.

Higuma /Â 32 bis Rue Sainte-Anne 75001

La grande épicerie

Because every time I go to Saint Germain (I live in le Marais) I can’t keep myself from coming back with my arms full! I always want to buy everything! Particularly the American products–you can find cookies and sweets there that you can’t find anywhere else.

La Grande Epicerie / 38 Rue de Sèvres  75007

Legendary French producer Alan Braxe is giving us today his Paris tips. He is a member of the Stardust with Thomas Bangelter & Benjamin Diamond and also the founder of the Vulture Label. Vulture hosts many parties from Paris to London, next one is this Tuesday at Social Club with performances by Alan Braxe, Dj Falcon, Tensnake and Xander Milne.
EP : http://www.scionav.com/collection/1327/Alan-Braxe—Moments-In-Time-EP

Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/alanbraxeofficial

1. It’s not a place in particular, more of a feeling. In summer I love to have a coffee on the terrace at a cafe, especially in the morning sun. Get a coffee, a cigarette and watch the world start it’s activities for the day. The alternative is a very quick coffee standind at the bar, it let you take a break for 2 minutes to concentrate on what you have to do.

2. It’s not very original but the Eiffel Tower is not bad! I went there for the first time with the Australian group Midnight Juggernauts. I met them on their first trip to Paris and after a coffee on the terrace as described above ; ), I suggested that we go the Eiffel Tower. They were very enthusiastic and so was I! On the top floor the view is amazing, but I don’t recommend it to the “elevator phobic” .

Tour Eiffel:Â Champ de Mars, 5 Avenue Anatole France, 75007 Paris

3. Not a place but more of a question that I can’t answer: right bank or left bank, which is the best? The atmosphere between the two sides is completely different. When I’m on the left the bank I always feel more relaxed and like I’m on a little vacation.

the Left Bank

4. When I play in Paris or just generally at the end of a night out .. I’m hungry .. and I can’t help but always go to the same Kebab shop, Place Pigalle. I’ve been going there for a long time and it’s a kind of ritual. I like that there is always a familiar smell in that place and in the early morning, kebab in hand I feel invincible.

Place Pigalle

5. It’s not in Paris but not very far either, The Saint Cloud Park. Its a great place when you want to get some fresh air and relax. On the “rond de la balustrade” on the Sèvres side, there is a superb view over the whole city of Paris.

Is it the best place in the world? Maybe. At least, it is definitely the place where I feel best. The bistro is run by Basque people, at any hour you can order a three-course menu at €13.50, and wine bottles seldom exceed €20. From the bavette aux bulots-aïoli to the major Thursdays’ pot-au-feu, or black cherry jam on sheep’s cheese, everything is designed here to help you remember that life is worth living.

If I did not restrain myself, I would take all my meals, and spend all my time there. The Express is like the cigarette, there’s always an excuse to pay a visit: because we are happy, because we are stressed, because we are tired, because we just to get up, or to do like our other buddies…

The first issue of PASSION was almost entirely written in this place, and it’s the only bar where I was paid shots to make me go to bed !

2/ Librairie Gilda – 36 rue des Bourdonnais 75001 Paris

I often find a shelter in this second-hand bookshop to buy discounted books. Such books were often given to journalists through press offices. I even found a copy of Entrée des Fantômes, autographed by its author Jean-Jacques Schuhl. The former owner had carved out his name not to be spotted! I also enjoy digging in the pocket books trays, and when I need to feel better, I search for comics, especially by Reiser.

3/ A La Civette Р157 Rue Saint-Honor̩ 75001 Paris

This renowned Parisian tobacco shop has been operating for more than three centuries and is still the best I know. Apart from the precious pieces of advice given by the kind, expert staff, its enormous advantage is that defective cigars can be sent back to their suppliers, if necessary. Thus, you are ensured to buy perfect cigars, whatever its price.

It happens regularly that a seller has to open up three or four boxes, in order to find the best size with an impeccable wrapper and an optimum level of humidity.

As you go away from the shop, go to the gardens of the Palais Royal. The Café Marly or Le Nemours are ideal places to ignite your discovery, whether it is a modest Por Larrañaga panatela, or a double Saint Luis Rey corona.

4/ 0fr – 20 rue Dupetit-Thouars 75003 Paris

Bookshops are often a pretext for walking in the city, and I must say that 0fr often changes my itinerary, like a magnet changes the orientation of a compass.

First, they have a cutting-edge selection of everything from magazines to art, photography or fashion books. But they also buy ancient issues of Purple or Paradis, which is a dream for magazine collectors like me.

These days, I spend a lot of time in their attached gallery to prepare the PASSION exhibit, which will start on April 23rd.

5/ Chez Wend (a friend’s place)

I’m not sure whether Adrien will open his own place one day, but until then, I often finish my nights in his wake, when bars are closed down and flat doors would not open. We met in NYC and spent there unforgettable nights. Even through my love for daylight will always prevent me from living the same existence than his, I know we’ll keep the same vision of what a party or a club should be.

However, this doesn’t exist in Paris yet, and this is what we’re trying to create by PASSION parties.

PASSION magazine is sold online: http://fruitsdelapassion.bigcartel.com

Everybody knows this beautiful, dark silhouette you often meet at Fashion Week, but Diane Pernet is more a businesswoman than an haute-couture widow. She started her career in New York as a costume designer and showed her talent and taste in numerous publications such as Elle or Vogue. Back in Paris, Diane became one of the earliest fashion bloggers by starting A Shaded View on Fashion (ASVOF) in 2005.

Lastly, as the founder and main curator of the festival A Shaded View on Fashion Film, she is a key actor in spreading the message that fashion is definitely linked with aesthetics and global trends, but should also convey a more intellectual and durable message. Paul Mouginot met her at the last fashion week in Paris and took her portrait. She kindly agreed to reveal us her favourite places in the French capital.

http://www.ashadedviewonfashion.com,

Les Deux Abeilles 189 rue de l’Universite 75007
This restaurant is a little jewel and serves as my favorite canteen. I love that it is open from morning till 7PM and that you can order anything on the menu all day. It is family run and the food is cooked with love. I’ve never been disappointed and have tried nearly everything on the menu.

And if you have a sweet tooth, watch out. I love the chestnut cake, which is only available in the winter, and the hot chocolate is made in the ancient way – it is simply the best. They also are kind enough to let photographers and filmmakers interview me there. You could say that my life passes by in this tea salon.

Toraya  10 rue St Florentin 75001

Toraya is one of the oldest Japanese patisseries in Japan and along with the sweets, it offers a limited but delicious selection of light lunches with vegetables, steamed rice, miso soupe, and on occasion fish, but mostly vegetarian. It is the only place where you can drink green tea hot chocolate as well as other traditional Japanese deserts. When it is super hot in Paris nothing cools you off better than Kaki-Gori which has macha green tea syrup and red azuki beans. It’s divine.

Ragtime - 23 Rue De l’Echaudé 75006
I’ve known the owner Francoise Auget ever since I moved to Paris 22 years ago. She is an expert in haute couture and the XXeme century. This shop is a great resource for fashion designers as it is full of originality and little treasures. Everything is in perfect shape or she would not show it. It is a dangerous place for me to enter because I always fall in love with one piece or another.

YENÂ 22 rue St Benoit 75006 Paris
Yen this is one of my favorite spots for Japanese food, I am there more often for dinner than for lunch and I prefer to sit upstairs where it is more calm. YEN is known for its freshly made soba noodles and you can watch them being made by the soba master in the window. It is hard to limit my favorite dishes to just a few but the fresh tofu with ginger and nasu no dengaku, grilled eggplant with red and white miso are standouts. And any of the fish and of course the tempura soba and the deserts from AOKI are amazing.

Tuck Shop 13 rue Lucien Sampaix 75010
I love this place – a really cozy eatery serving vegetarian food. It’s affordable and made with love especially its many sweets and famous Australian café. Tuck Shop is the name for a canteen in Australia and the three owners of the Tuck Shop hail from Down Under. If it was closer to home I would be there everyday.

Verjus

I think that I love the downstairs winebar as much as the upstairs restaurant.

The food is delicious and original. Â The staff are really friendly, too.

Trying the hush puppies in the winebar was a life changing experience.

Chipotle

I’m so happy that Chipotle finally came to Paris.

I could eat Mexican food everyday.

It’s fresh, it’s cheap, and the $5 Margaritas are delicious.

The Space

is a new multi-brand shop in St Germain that’s carrying CALLA. Â The shop has an eccentric, Alice in Wonderland feel. Â The owners buy a huge array of young designers – their selection is completely original and refreshing.

21 rue Bonaparte

Monday Music Quiz at the Thistle

My best friend Michele runs the pub and also hosts this weekly music quiz.

It’s always super fun and social.

They also host a regular pub quiz on Sundays.

112 rue Saint Denis

Bois de Vincennes

I’m not sure if there’s anything that makes me happier then watching my Chow Chow, Lily, roll around in the grass like a pig in mud making loud grunting noises.

You’ll find us at Bois de Vincennes every weekend re-connecting to nature.

ARAW, A Roll, A Week. This is the latest challenge of Ludovic Zuili, the rising photographer and filmmaker: every week, he publishes a new film roll on his eponym website. He will be hosting a two-day exhibition to celebrate the first year of the existence of ARAW, from this evening on, at Le Huit in Paris.

Ludovic already plays big: close to the fashion sphere, he collaborated with Olivier Zahm, Louis Vuitton or Le Printemps in the past, and will release his first short movie “A mort, à mort”, produced by BoogieMan Production, in February this year. His latest photography exhibitions, “8 ways 2 die” and “Les séries américaines”, were featured in Shanghai, Zürich, Bruxelles and Paris.

He met Paul Mouginot, and unveiled at this occasion for Ten Days in Paris his upcoming project, called “L’instant T”. It will be a set of photographs, before and after which there is a story. The photographer freezes this particular moment, the viewer’s imagination takes over.

That’s it: now, you wonder where to meet this kind and talented man…

La Maison Européenne de la Photo

This is no secret place, of course, but if you’re a photography enthusiast, and even if you’re not, you can’t miss this place. The exhibitions are diverse, the selection is flawless and it’s a great occasion to see photographs I love in the books.

I advise you to go there in the middle of the week, as there is fewer visitors.

5 Rue de Fourcy  75004 Paris

The Bottle Shop

I’m probably not the first one to talk about it but I’d rather eat here for lunch than for dinner. In the evening, it is a English-style bar quite nice, but in the day, you feel more like you’re in Berlin. It’s good, fresh place to work or read, especially at the end of the service.

The Bottle shop
5 Rue Trousseau 75011 Paris
01 43 14 28 04
www.cheapblonde.com/bottleshop.html
Open everyday, 12pm-2 am

Librairie Leks

It’s definitely not the hypest or most cutting-edge bookshop of Paris, but they have art, photo or fashion books that no other shop features. The people there know their business and will be able to give you useful pieces of advice. Some beautiful books are often subject to rebates. I was looking for a book by Stephen Shore, “Uncommon places – 50 unpublished”, which usually retails between €100 and €150 on eBay. I got it here for €35 with an extra free book.

19 rue Pierre Lescot
75001Â Paris

Le Carillon

In Paris, you certainly can find a lot of trendy bars, but this one has an atmosphere I always enjoy. Perfect for early or late evening drinks, close to the Canal Saint-Martin, it will be the perfect introduction/conclusion of a dinner at Philou, at Cambodge or at Mme Shawn’s.

18 Rue Alibert  75010 Paris

01 42 39 81 88

Stade Pershing

It is probably the place where I spent the most of my time between April and November. I play and train there with my baseball team. In summer the place is very enjoyable, with vast grass fields to tan a bit. If you don’t like baseball, you probably don’t know this sport enough, and I might organize explanation sessions one day, if you come and support us…

Bois de Vincennes

Le Septime

The chef of this restaurant features a “carte blanche” menu: you just sign up for this and the meal will be a complete surprise ! If you have only few allergies, don’t worry, everything will be fine…

The ambiance is quiet and the waiters are extremely nice and answer precisely any question.

This won’t be your usual restaurant, because you have to book early and it’s a bit expensive, but you have to treat yourself with this kind of pleasure from time to time !

When Isaac met MarcÂ

It all started with a chance encounter. Isaac Larose Farmer, party aficionado from Quebec, and Marc Beaugé, journalist from Paris (Le Monde, les Inrockuptibles, SoPress), met at a friend’s dinner party. After chatting about clothes, architecture, and books, they quickly realised they shared the same references. It was love at first sight for Marc, who later e-mailed Isaac proposing to collaborate on a project: “Would you want to do a brand together?” A meeting was called, a few ideas were thrown around, and again, they left it up to chance. Each wrote down 3 items, and if there was a match, they would run with it. It could have been small leather goods, or gloves, but their round of Russian roulette revealed a common passion: five panels. Marc humbly suggested Isaac’s name and well, the rest is history.

They had the brains; now, they needed the hands. After doing some investigation (scouring fashion blogs and phonebooks), Marc and Isaac found their girl: Pauline Brosset, a young apprentice to a Lanvin master and bespoke hat maker. Pauline later joined on as a full-time partner, and 2 became 3. Call it fate. The guys launched their first season in September 2012 with one model and 600 caps. They’re growing slowly but surely, and gaining even more momentum, with the help of a recent collaboration with ami. They’ve also been picked up by hipster boutiques like Opening Ceremony in Manhattan and Centre Commercial in Paris and featured in magazines like Le Monde, GQ and NYmag.

Thanks to Larose, five panels are making a serendipitous comeback. But were they ever really gone? Still, Larose is putting its own stamp on the trusty ball cap: shorter brims, vintage prints and unique materials (even curtain fabric!). Their luxury five panels are each hand-made and are fast becoming a must-have in high-end streetwear. So with all of this success, does the brand have plans to launch other products? The team will try out new hat models this season, but they’re definitely sticking to their original philosophy: do one thing, and do it well, much like the Barbour coat or the Clarks desert boot. Marc noticed a growing phenomenon in street fashion: mixing styles, with signature items. Like all wardrobe staples, the Larose cap is meant to be worn with no boundaries. Frankly, we’d sport it with anything.

Be on the lookout for the new collection being launched during Men’s Fashion Week! In the meantime, want to know where the cool guys of Larose hang out in Paris? Check out where you might run into them when they’re not in the showroom:

Au Bascou / 38, rue Réaumur / 75003

Just a few steps away from the infernal rue de Bretagne, a real restaurant, with tablecloths, old people and comfort food from the Southwest.

Le café coutume / 47, rue de Babylone / 75007

Le caféothèque / 52, rue de l’Hôtel de Ville / 75004

When we feel like showing off, we hang around here with one of the best cups of coffee in Paris and some chic reading. Just for effect.

Le marché aux Puces de Clignancourt / Metro Porte de Clignancourt

Between the fake Nikes and stoner t-shirts, there’s always something to buy at the Puces de Clignancourt.

Yvon Lambert / 108, rue Vieille du Temple / 75003

The best bookstore in Paris, connected to one of the best galleries in Paris. What more is there to ask for?

La Bibliothèque des Arts Décoratifs / 107, rue de Rivoli / 75001

A beautiful area that’s quiet and smart. You’ll find the most unique fashion and design books, and with a little luck, your neighbour might make eye contact with you… Plus, Colette is just around the corner. Sweeeeeet deal.

Â

George les canettes / 11, rue des Canettes / 75006

Perfect to party as if you were on the Titanic…

Nose / 20, rue Bachaumont / 75002

The ideal place to find out that you’ve been wearing the wrong perfume since before you can even remember and that it’s urgently time to change… All that in good humour and taste, of course.

Â

Old England / 12, boulevard des Capucines / 75009

It’s closed? Really? Really really? Who cares, we’ll keep combing the aisles of this temple of style, English, bourgeois, and so uptight…

Turkish restaurants in the rue du Faubourg Saint Denis / Métro Strasbourg Saint-Denis.

The morning after, around 12:30, go up the Rue du Faubourg Saint Denis, grab a seat indoors and order a mountain of Turkish pizza for 3 euros… everything will feel better.

Le Village / 8, rue de Versigny / 75018

The coolest bar in Paris, or almost… Inside, you’ll see real Parisians, workers taking their coffee break and loitering barflies. Great place for a sociological study. And you won’t come across Garance Doré here, we promise.

Maison Labiche is a story of friendship. It all started two years ago, when two young Parisians, Jenny, designer, and Marie, stylist, tired of the constraints of their day jobs, sought a new creative outlet. At the end of 2010, their common passion, complementary personalities and love of “know-how” inspired them to found Maison Labiche. They aspired to build a fashion house with soul and a brand based on both quality and accessibility. After putting their hands and minds together, they quickly found their way with a unanimously beloved item: the t-shirt.

After experimenting with their own technique of embroidery, they developed a unique signature to put on a perfectly designed t-shirt—a tee you can wear everyday, that lasts, and looks good on anybody. From this, a simple concept was born: a t-shirt with rolled-up sleeves and heart embroidery. These aren’t just any ordinary t-shirts, however. These tees are made with love. Add about 30 names from music, literature and cinema that Jenny and Marie personally admire, and Maison Labiche had its first collection: “People & Song.”

One year after its creation, Maison Labiche has only gotten bigger and continues to grow. Jenny and Marie recently launched two new embroidered t-shirt collections: “Hands,” which expresses the language, imagery, and possibilities of hand gestures and “Cover,” which reimagines classic album cover designs. They also just opened a brand-new boutique/atelier in Montmartre at 3, passage Lepic.

Ten Days sat down with these young creators to find out where they hang in Paris when they aren’t in the workshop.

La Balançoire / 6, rue Aristide-Bruant / 75018

This restaurant just opened right next door to our shop, so we go often for lunch. It’s a little neighbourhood bistro, but the service is warm and their “assiette gourmande” is to die for.

Le Bal / 6, Impasse de la Défense / 75018

Tucked away in a small dead-end street in the 18th, le Bal is a nice exhibition space dedicated to great photography. We especially like the decor.

L’Embuscade / 47, rue de la Rochefoucault / 75009

After a long day of work, there’s nothing better than an after hours drink in the neighbourhood.

l' embuscade

Du Pain et des Idées / 34, rue Yves Toudic, 75010

We swear, they make the best pain au chocolat in the world. The only problem is not buying more than one thing while you’re there…

Librairie W.H. Smith / 248, rue de Rivoli / 75001

After a walk in the Tuileries, we like to take a quick break in this British bookshop, which usually ends with scones and marmalade on the 1st floor…

L’Arrosoir / 80, rue Oberkampf / 75011

It’s almost impossible to resist the gorgeous flowers of this shop.

Le Marché d’Aligre / Place d’Aligre / 75012

An unavoidable stop in the 12th arrondisement, for weekend shopping and a casual read. We like to come, magazine in hand, for coffee.

Le Baron / 6, avenue Marceau / 75008

We’ve definitely spent some crazy nights there. We might go a little less often now than we used to back in the day, but we still have a lot of fun there drinking their famous house cocktail: Le Baron (champagne, vodka, and fresh red fruit).

le baron

In 2008, philosophy students Mathieu and Olivier decided to drop out of university to start their men’s clothing line: Melinda Gloss. Named ironically after the nickname of one of their friends in Shanghai, Melinda Gloss brings good pieces inspired by other creative domains like classic cinema, made with natural fabrics and local know-how, and entirely in Paris, Limoges, Venice, and Porto. Four years after the opening of their first boutique in le Marais and private projections co-organized with Carlotta Films, they recently opened a second boutique at 9 rue Madame in Saint Germain des Près. We met Mathieu to know his favorite spots.

Melinda Gloss Marais /Â 42 rue de Saintonge 75003
Melinda Gloss Left Bank /Â 9 rue Madame 75006
Facebook Page

Drinks

Café de la Mairie

It’s a real cliché, but hyped PMUs–located in Saint Germain in areas that are a bit avoided by the fashion crowd, and more established in the right bank. That’s too bad, because the left bank is not only populated by gentrified intellectuals of the 60’s but there is also a dynamic youth living there.

Café de la Mairie / 8 Place Saint-Sulpice  75006

and…
Terrasse de l’hotel Raphael
Castor Club

Food

DaveÂ

Mythic Chinese restaurant where we can still light a cigarette after diner, in a hushed place covered with photos of Dave (a queer Asian) with almost all the muses and figures of the fashion industry over the last 30 years.

Dave /Â 12 Rue de Richelieu 75001

Minimes

It used to be le Bacci, which was a somewhat tacky Italian restaurant–now it serves great French food. Perfect for lunch to break up a long session of shopping or for diner upstairs. It’s kind of an insider place, where the people know each other. I recommend the steak Chateaubriand.

Minimes /Â 36, rue de Turenne

Yamamoto

Japanese with no pretensions, with food of incredible quality. (And if you finish diner after 10pm, it’s just across from Le Soleil Levant, a Chinese massage parlor that’s a bit shady but not without charm–not a brothel but close…)

Yamamoto / 6 Rue Chabanais  75002

And also…

Le Nouveau Latina

Interesting and relevant selection of movies. Alternative programming that goes off the beaten track.

Nouveau Latina / 20 Rue du Temple  75004

and…

Singtank gig at la Gaité Lyrique October 20th

La Cour Carrée du Louvre

Les Jardins de la vie Romantique (for an afternoon with a barely legal and freshly arrived American girl)

Le Baron

It’s specially the place made for the moments when I have to release everything. It’s a place where there are only friends–my best friends work there. It’s family and it’s where my Parisian journey started! In fact I arrived in Paris in 2006 and worked at le Paris Paris. La clique “m’a pris sous son aile” and I found a nest there.

Le Juan Chito

It’s a small Colombian restaurant near Pere Lachaise and it’s so good!!! It’s our Sunday restaurant. We go there to meet up because with this crazy life we don’t really have time to spend together. If there is Juan Chito on Sunday nobody can refuse it!

Le Juan Chito / 69 Rue de la Folie-Regnault  75011

My Workshop

My workshop in Vincennes with all my little swarming interns!!!

We’re lucky enough to have a space in a big studio, so there’s lots of mutual aid and great artistic energy. I love this place!

Le Bois de Vincennes

My lungs, my oxygen–it’s on my way to work. In summer I have lunch in the woods–it’s a blast for lunch break! From the terrace of the studio we see the woods stretch out to the horizon. It’s like an anime by Miyazaki–I like to imagine that the woods are full of little animals that we cannot see.

La Petite Fripe

It’s a great address and the boss Lhassan is hyper cool. We can find great shoes there and a super selection of men and women’s clothing. It’s a really great address to find treasures.

Hugo & Fred, Blitz co-founders, met 7 years ago and bonded over a common passion: bikes and mechanics.

For almost 5 years, they’ve been working together after work, first for friends, then for friends of friends, and well, the rest is history. In 2010, they took this crazy bet and decided to make a living from their hobby.
Since then, their know-how and skills, as well as their style, has grown up. They’ve managed to mix their love of old bikes, and old machines in general, with 80’s skateboard style and old US folk/rock music.
The product: old school handcrafted, raw customized and time polished bikes. Create unique stylish motorcycles; create unique life/road experiences and stories. From this ideal, Blitz was born.
When asked their favorite bike road trip souvenir, one of the guys replied: “So I imagine straight away California, the engine roaring, hair in the wind and a beautiful chick on the back…”
They often reminisce during their usual August road trip. They’ve been working on a bike for weeks, but this one is losing oil like “war planes hit during a fight” and they have no idea why.
Still, you can imagine their delight after 6 hours on their knees, on the side of the road, under the hot sun, dripping sweet engine oil…  BLITZ is not just about nice bikes and 2 bearded fellows holed up in a small garage. It’s also a way of life, and a commitment to a certain lifestyle.

So speaking of lifestyle, the guys shared some of their favorite spots in Paris with Ten Days…

1- Le Saint Gervais, 96 rue Vieille du Temple, 3e

This bistro is just a few step away from my apartment. It has remained unchanged and kept authentic over the years. The crowd is diverse, which is becoming rare in this hip neighborhood. Sometimes, this bar can even turn into a little club where people dance and have fun !

Le Saint Gervais

2- Les Vitelloni, 4 rue Dupetit-Thouars, 3e

I always enjoy chilling on the sunny terrace of this Italian restaurant : the ideal place for a lunch with friends.

Les Vitelloni

3- Institut Suédois, 11 rue Payenne, 3e

As a Scandinavian art and design enthusiast, I visit the museum on a regular basis. My best memory is probably the Svenskt Tenn exhibit last year. There is a quiet, beautiful garden in the back of the building, perfect for the “secret garden” hunters.

institut suedois

4- La Jolie Garde Robe, 15 rue Commines, 3e

In this vintage shop, the selection is always extremely sharp, featuring creations from major couture designers. The prices are sometimes high, but so is the quality of the clothes. If you want to find a unique gift for a woman, don’t go anywhere else !

La Jolie Garde Robe

5- Dansk Møbelkunst, 53 bis, quai des Grands Augustins, 6e

Buying furniture is a thing of pleasure. Buying real Scandinavian furniture is a whole other dimension, and that is what you can experience in this high-key gallery. The pieces are featured both in Paris and in Copenhagen, and are definitely a source of inspiration and visual pleasure !

Dansk Møbelkunst

The Brazilian shop is to be re-opened soon

1/la place Dauphine

A theatrical place, enclosed in an atypical triangle where I like to go over and over. Kind of funny to see people playing petanque between former royal buildings. Paris is always inspiring in its archi-dramatic way. It’s kind of curious that more movie scenes aren’t shot there.

Place Dauphine 75001

place dauphine

2/Kunitoraya2

Good Japanese restaurants are often a culinary delight but are totally depressing. Here the ambiance is closer to a bistro vibe. The wine list is very good, which makes it festive… Finally, it’s also good when you are in a romantic mood.

Kunitoraya2 / 39 Rue Sainte-Anne  75001

3/Le Montana

Initially a cozy annex to the clubs of the 8th (models & money people), this club sometimes reaches heights of decadence. Â The lack of privacy warms people up, women become the objects of fights, and men parade at the bar… A real modern saloon.

Le Montana / 28 rue Saint-Benoît 75006

4/le Bailly

Recently appropriated by a Parisian youth bored by the neo traditional bistros that are taking over Paris. This old dive is strategically located at the corner angle at arts et métiers. I find that it ages the la rue de Bretagne. Even if the word has lost its meaning, it’s kind of rock’n’roll. And the crowd is cool.

Le Bailly / 27 Rue Réaumur  75003

5/le Bonne Nouvelle

Conversely, the gay community felt that they have a right to the dirty coolness of the 9th/10th arrondissements. The spot is improbable, between le Grand Rex and the McDonald’s at Poissoniere. The vibe is typical of the area, the crowd different from the people that frequent the rue des Archives… One night Batman was on the roof of le Rex–it convinced me.

La Bonne Nouvelle / 4 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75010 Paris

Randomly style-hunted many times by legendary fashion blogger Garance Doré, she launched her own blog on Garance’s advice. Composed mainly of pictures of herself and her inspirations, her blog led her to working for brands like the Kooples and les Prairies de Paris, or to making videos for L’Officiel. Margaux seemed to be the girl who had it all until three months ago she decided to launch her own fashion line. Like her blog, Kapsule tries to make everyday life poetic with romantic takes on the everyday t-shirt. And because we wanted to know where to see her dancing in her brand new t-shirts, we asked her for her favorite spots in Paris.

Wanderlust:

We often say that Paris is too ghettoized: spots for hipsters, spots for rednecks, etc… Wanderlust is a place where people mix and party until 4am. It’s the kind of vibe that you find in NYC.

32 quai d’Austerlitz 75013

Le Baron:

A place where you know you can go every day. The music is good and you always meet people you know, even if lots of the people there are very superficial.

6 Avenue Marceau 75008

Mansart:

A cafe in the 9th–it’s the second Sans Soucis. My boyfriend works there as a bartender.

Le Mansart 1 rue Mansart, 75009

Baan Boran:

A bit pricey but incredible Thai food. The waiters are a bit weird–maybe transgender?–but dressed in a very fancy way.

43, rue Montpensier, 75001

La Feline:

There are lots of dive bars in Paris, but this one, located at the end of a one way street, is very rock n’ roll. The people there are really cool.

La Feline /Â 6, Rue Victor Letalle

Le Cambodge:

It’s amazing. It’s owned by a Cambodian family. The bo-bun is incredible, but the line to get in is incredible as well. That’s why they opened a second one close to the first one.

10 avenue Richerand, 75010

Their name may be a joke but their work isn’t! Beware the ultimate Parisian clip-makers! Famous for their work for Is Tropical, Madonna, or Kid Cudi, they are the number one music video makers in town. They told us during the Vice X Intel Creators Project where to meet them.

Mauri7

Great vibe and real chill, the service is fast and the waitress is hot. Great for watching soccer games.

Le Mauri7 /Â 46 rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis 75010

La Caravelle

A Mauritian restaurant, with great lemon chicken. There is a cool cantine vibe. Go there to check out the boss’s 90’s T-shirts.

La Caravelle / 52 rue du Faubourg Poissonnière, 75010 Paris

La Cinematheque

Great shows. The exhibition about Metropolis was hyper cool. The exhibitions are a bit geeky but we like it this way.

La Cinematheque / 51 Rue de Bercy  75012

Autour d’un verre

Small producers of wine: good, fresh reds. It’s cheap and they’re good advisers.

Autour d’un verre / 21 Rue de Trévise  75009

Chez Papa

Food from the southwest–when you are hungry it’s perfect. It’s a chain, and the one we like is Rue Montmartre. It’s not really our world so it’s always interesting to hear the people seating next to us talking.

Chez Papa /Â 153 Rue Montmartre 75002

La Galerie de PaléontologieÂ

It’s a place I like to go often–my favorite place in Paris. My son has become an excellent excuse to go there on a regular basis.

2 Rue Buffon  75005 Paris

La Cloche d ‘ or

I really like the vibe of night restaurants. Here the dancers of le Moulin Rouge, the rockers, and the onlookers meet and mingle. Kind of an establishment in Pigalle. Open till 4am.

3 Rue Mansart  75009 Paris

La Boutika

Indie retailer who sells movies that we don’t find at the big stores anymore. I’ve made some great discoveries there. There are also books, posters, and great movies for children.

6Â rue Houdon 75018

La PhonogalerieÂ

This place is awesome: the owner sells and repairs every kind of gramophone, Teppaz disc players, and vinyls. I collect Teppaz that I buy there or on eBay. Nothing really beats the sound of vinyl.

10 rue Lallier 75009

Archi-Noire

This shop offers a selection of design objects from the 30’s to the 80’s. I always find something there and the prices are reasonable.

19 rue Victor Massé

Les Arpenteurs

The owner is a fan of photography books. He orders rare stuff and grants me an infinite amount of time.

9 rue Choron 75009

Thomsen Paris

I buy from the men’s and women’s collections, and I’m addicted to the cut and the fabric of the shirts. I must have more than twenty of them. The blazers are remarkable as well.

98 rue de Turenne 75003

Kenza started her blog with holiday photos of her friends and family. Now, thousands of girls are inspired by her life as the busy girl from the Marais. They follow her every move, from a photo shoot with her friends to her latest outfit. As if inspiring girlz is not enough, Kenza is also one of those cool chicks that sweet brands like Vitamin Water fight to have among them. Oh, and did we mention she had her own show on Konbini!:

http://kenzasmg.blogspot.fr/
https://twitter.com/#!/kenzasmg

To kick off the week-end, Le Progrès

Because to me, it means the end of the week and the beginning of the week-end! I’m there almost every Friday with my friends from the area.

1 Rue Bretagne  75003

To dance, L\Inconnu

Because I’m sure to find friends and drink good White Russians. The DJ sets are very good, but I also like ghetto stuff and they often play hip-hop, so it’s my kind of place.

17 Rue de Mazagran, 75010

To pre-game, La Mangerie

It’s a tapas bar in the Marais owned by a crazy guy named Serge, where you can find preppies from Versailles or hipsters from the Marais. I go there so often that they’ve even named a shooter after me! Try the Kenza: rhum, milk & cane sugar. The tapas are simple, but in a modern way. It’s a little grungy, so it feels like a great dive in Brooklyn.

7 Rue de Jarante, 75004

To eat Ferdi

A Spanish-French restaurant that is also Kanye West’s favorite place to eat in Paris! Kind of pricey, but you can find the best burgers in the world here…

32, rue du Mont Thabor 75001

To brunch Le Marché des Enfants Rouges

Because my mother has taken me there since I was born. There are lots of stands serving Italian, Moroccan, Japanese, etc. and it’s very cosy. You just have to find a seat at one of the big wooden tables and chat up your neighbors.

39 Rue de Bretagne  75003

You may already have seen Alma heartbroken in an Opening Ceremony video, chilling on a l’Officiel photo set with Jeanne Damas and Lou Lessage, or rocking with her band “the Burning Peacocks.” Beginning May 9 she’s starring in the movie Sea no sex and sun and is currently shooting the adaptation of the comic book “le bleu est une couleur chaude” with Lea Seydoux. Alma Jodorowsky is, as you may guess, the grand daughter of the cult Chilean movie director Alejandro Jodorowsky. And to our great pleasure, she tells us today about her favorite hangouts in Paris.

Filmothèque du quartier latinÂ

I go to the cinema very often and when it comes to seeing an old movie, I like to go to “La filmo.”
I love the programs and retrospectives there, as well as the rooms, the “Marilyn” and the “Audrey,” which are so kitsch, and the owner, a passionate old filmmaker who always has a story to tell.

9 Rue Champollion 75005

Canal St Martin

When it’s not too cold outside, I like to have coffee at Prune, then grab a delicious slice of apple pie at the boulangerie at the corner of rue Toudic and rue de Marseille and walk along the Canal St Martin.

Musée Gustave Moreau

One of my favorite french painters. Set in the former house of the artist himself, you can visit his rooms and see a huge collection of his paintings and drawings on the second and third floors, which used to be his studio. A mystical and very poetic atmosphere exudes from this place. It’s always calm and not too crowded, and of course his art is magnificent!

4 Rue de la Rochefoucauld 75009

Ave Maria

Just thinking about this place makes me hungry. They have all kinds of exotic dishes from all over the world, so I always spend half an hour choosing what I want to order! I also love the decor of the place: colored walls, all kinds of Santa Maria icons, mirrors, fake flowers… It’s like a huge bobo cabinet of curiosities.

1 Rue Jacquard

The Bottle Shop

Good rock and roll music, good cocktails and cute boys! I like to go there during the week, like Wednesday or Thursday when it’s not too crowded but enough to have fun. Those are also usually the days when they have the best DJ sets when it comes to awesome rock, indie, or soul music.

The Red House

I also like the Red House, opened by my friend Joe not even a year ago on the street just next to “The Bottle.” I like to hang there with friends, drinking an old fashioned next to the buffalo skull and the portrait of Denis Hopper. I also very often bring my vinyls to dj there.

1 bis rue de la Forge Royale 75012

Marché des enfants rouges

Especially the traditional Japanese restaurant where the have very good bentos. After that, I like to meet my friends at a café, Le progres for example, which is in the same street, and then go chill at the park in front of the mairie du 3e.

39 Rue de Bretagne 75003

Facebook Page

Nanashi 2:

Fast, good, organic–thanks to the bento-based concept and the chef, who I love. The meals are nourishing and balanced. I also like the canteen-like vibe.

57 Rue Charlot, 75003

Nanashi

Chez Vivant:

Because it’s very good. I love the vibe there: I feel like I’m back in Argentina. A kind of vestige of the 20’s, with an interior design from the beginning of the century.

43, rue des Petites-Écuries 75010

Puces de Saint Ouen:

To dig out tons of stuff–even if I can’t buy everything due to the prices it’s a great walk. It’s like a Paris that hasn’t changed for decades, with the same secondhand dealers having lunch next to their shops while emptying wine bottles. The atmosphere is kind of cliché but it’s something I would love to experience every day.

Open every Saturday, Sunday, Monday.

http://marcheauxpuces-saintouen.com/1.aspx

Galerie BenSimon

This gallery shows interesting design with a great selection. It’s located in front of the boutique, so I window shop there every day.

111 Rue Turenne  75003 Paris

Marché de Saint Pierre:

I don’t go there for the brand but there are loads of fabric to make clothes for my daughter. It’s also a kind of market that hasn’t changed for a while. And a good plus is when you leave the place you have a very pleasant view of la Butte Montmartre.

2 Rue Charles Nodier  75018

CSAO Paris

It was opened by the mother of a friend who lived in Senegal. This shop helps the craft industry there by selling some of their work. It’s also a way to discover this culture.

9 Rue Elzevir  75003 Paris

Her shop is located in the world-famous open air trendy shopping area that is le Marais, and she is recognized for the pictorial and literary references of her creations. You might recognize her jewelery work in Michel Gondry’s next movie, “l’Ecume des jours” or on the arm of her muse Léa Seydoux.

She told us the places where she likes to go–either to get inspiration or to dawdle–when she is not in le Marais…

http://www.annarivka.fr/

Passage des panoramasÂ

I like this place for its timeless vibe and the architecture

Passage des panormas / 11 Boulevard Montmartre 75002

Chez Vivant:

It’s a restaurant located in the 10th district between my place and the flat of one of my best friends–I love meeting her there, and the food is delicious.

43, rue des Petites-Écuries 75010

La cour carrée du Louvre

It always feels good there: warm in winter, cool in summer. It’s the perfect place to read a book peacefully.

cour carree du louvre

I can chill there for hours…

174 bd Saint Germain 75006

Sabbia Rosa

It’s my favorite boutique in Paris, where you can find the most refined fabrics that exist.

73, rue des Saint Pères 75006

To the question « Where to meet The Cobrasnake ? », we were tempted to simply answer « EVERYWHERE ».

You probably already met him in a club, had a quick chat over your third vodka-anything, visited his website to check if they really have more fun in NY or Miami, or even found yourself making the weirdest face on one of his pics, but just couldn’t remember him taking that pic (the vodka I was referring to earlier might just be the reason of this amnesia) . Indeed, just like a snake, Mark Hunter has been slipping into every party from all around the world and thus has been defying the rules of sleep and jet lag for more that 7 years now.

We met him in Paris during last Fashion Week for the presentation of his burger sneaker, in collaboration with Vans and Colette. Which obviously led us to talk about food, fashion and fun.

www.thecobrasnake.com

Mark the Cobrasnake at Colette

Food

Whenever I’m in Paris, I like to go to Hotel Amour for lunch or dinner, there are always cool and trendy people there.

Hotel Amour
Open everyday, 8am-12am
8 Rue de Navarin  75009 Paris
01 48 78 31 80

I’m also a big fan of Pierre Hermé. My favorite macaron flavors would be passion fruit, and rose. I have to admit I have very girly tastes.

Pierre Hermé
Several locations in Paris
pierreherme.com

You would think I can tell you where to eat very good burgers considering I just designed a burger sneaker, but funny thing is I’ve been a vegetarian for 10 years now. I used to have burgers almost everyday before though ! La Maison Mère (where was held The Cobrasnake x Vans x Colette dinner party) is supposed to have very good burgers.

La Maison Mère
Open Tuesday to Saturday, 12pm-3pm, 7pm- 2am, Sunday 12pm-3pm.
4 Rue de Navarin  75009 Paris

Fashion

I like to hang in the Marais, I go get drinks at La Perle and then go shopping to American Apparel (L.A. represent !) and APC which I really like for the simplicity of the design.

American Apparel
americanapparel.net

Fun

When it comes to partying, it’s hard to name a place better than another. There has been some good times at Le Baron, le Social Club and le Montana… And a lot of places which I don’t even know the name, I just happened to find myslef there !

A really nice place I remember though is The Hemingway bar at the Ritz. Awesome cocktails.

Le Baron
Open everyday 11pm- 6am
6 avenue Marceau  75008 Paris

The Hemingway at Hotel Ritz
