If there’s an A-list party in Los Angeles, odds are huge that Myles Hendrik is DJing! He recently DJed at movie industry parties for the  Oscars, the Emmys, the Golden Globes, and the Grammys, and for fashion parties including Vogue and W Magazine. He tells us about his 5 favorite spots in Los Angeles: watching movies in a cemetery, beaches, flea markets, parties… 5 good reasons to spend a weekend in LA.

1. Beachwood Canyon / Griffith Park
A simple hike from my house with my two dogs and I’m in one of Griffth Park’s amazing canyon’s overlooking all of L.A. and beyond. A park of this scale, beauty and stillness with deer and hawks flying overhead right in my back yard. It’s incredible.
The marriage of a major metropolis at the very edge of so much still untamed wilderness is what makes this city so special.

2. Chateau Marmont

It doesn’t get much better or more iconic than this place. A favorite dinner, drink location. Classy. Classic. Timeless.

3. Movies at Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

At first thought, this might sound like a creepy scenario: Picnicing under the stars watching classic films in Hollywood’s oldest cemetery, but it’s actually amazing. Every summer, Cinespia curates a series of films that’ve run the gamut from “Vertigo” to “Pointbreak”,
“Psycho” to “Clueless”. Relaxing on an expansive lawn with friends, drinking wine, eating pizza under the stars, whilst watching “The Lost Boys” with Jayne Mansfield, Rudolph Valentino and Dee Dee and Johnny Ramone nearby… only in L.A.

4. The Rose Bowl Flea Market

On the second Sunday of every month, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena is turned into arguably one of the biggest (and coolest) flea markets anywhere. An absolute Los Angelean staple.
You’ll find literally anything you want to buy and many more things you never thought of buying. Some of my most prized possessions have come from this place.

5. El Capitain Beach, Malibu

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention a special beach location because most people come to Los Angeles for the weather and the beach. This gem is tiny and secluded. Perfectly away from the masses that abound the more typical beach locations like Venice and Santa Monica Beach.
A heavenly way to spend a Sunday.
