Planning to spend your weekend in Turin but have no idea where to go? Lucky for you we asked a local girl about her favorite locations around town! You may have seen her on street style blogs like the Sartorialist, Mr Newton… or on her fashion blog. Eleonora Carisi, owner of YouYou Store and fashion designer at What’s Inside You, is one of today’s major Italian fashion figures. She tells us her favorite spots in Turin.
– to shop and be creative …
You You Store
It’s been a while, almost ten years since I opened my shop in the center of Turin: You You!
A small boutique where you can find up-and-coming stylists, creations from all over the world, and inspiration for you and your look. It’s the right place if you want to feel a fresh and creative vibe and…you can also find me!
Piazza Vittorio Veneto 12f
– to have the best agnolotti in town
A new grocery concept behind my store and near the center, too. Warm and familiar, you can eat real handmade Italian food made by the Bruzzone brothers or take it to go. Try the handmade agnolotti, so good with meat sauce or with butter!
Via Maria Vittoria 32
-hanging out with your best friend in spring/summer
Maybe you don’t know where to go but you want to just stay out drinking and having an aperitif. It’s spring, and the sun is up until 8 pm so don’t miss the chance to try all the nice places in the big square Piazza Vittorio, full of bars with music, and outside, with young people and a great view of the hill and the river. A good place to meet your friends before dinner.
-a floral thought
For me it’s not a good day if I don’t decorate my home with flowers. Sometimes you don’t need to wait for somebody so I buy them for myself. I’m in love with pink roses, tulips, and peonies. The best place is Niche, a very small boutique near the shopping center via Roma with a special garden of love where you can find the best flowers ever. Inside the shop there is a great choice of Sicilian fragrances for your body and your home.
Via Giovanni Giolitti, 2
-it’s sushi time
It’s not a great night for me if I cannot have sushi! Sushi is my fave food before or after a great movie.
You can take it easy ordering from home or you can also try one of the five Kombu around the city. Try the Uramaki special and the combos. You never know if the owners will give your name to an uramaki!
Corso Dante Alighieri, 127-131
