After 3 years of renovation, la SIRA officially opened the doors of its new building in Asnières-Sur-Seine to 350 friends for a cocktail & party. On this occasion, it displayed for the first time, la SIRA’s permanent collection of works acquired over the years from resident artists. This collection retraces la SIRA’s history and the different moments of the development the space has known since 2010, and will be renewed annually. It was the opportunity for guests to discover the new riverside terrace, the video studio and many other spaces of the building that were previously inaccessible to the public.

A multidisciplinary contemporary art meeting carried by two artists of the new generation; Salomé Partouche and Jean-Samuel Halifi. Young and daring, the Biennale de Paname association frees itself from the usual intermediaries of the art market to offer an exhibition created by the artists themselves, for the public. Twenty-three days of free and open-access exhibition in the heart of Saint-Ouen, for a single ambition: to open the doors of contemporary art to a wide audience. Twenty artist artists will invite visitors to navigate between installations, performances, paintings, sculptures … Several showcases, conferences, workshops will punctuate the month. The Biennale de Paname is supported by partners in accordance with its values: La Mairie de Saint-Ouen, Radio Nova, the Atelier de Paname Paulette, Melty, Le bonbon or even Paris Secret: support and creators of content throughout the event, and we thank them.

Ten years after its creation, La SIRA, installed in a newly renovated 3500m2 building is still the main creative hub of Northern Paris. On the occasion of the Nuit Blanche, it treated guests and residents to a stunning private concert of the band Catastrophe who performed a capella in La SIRA’s unique, characterful gallery. The evening was also the opportunity to announce the partnership between La SIRA and 836M, a philanthropic organisation from San Francisco.

“1230 °C” 2nd Edition Opening Cocktail Party

The second exhibition “1230 ° C” created by Camille Zerhat took place at the Iconoclastes Gallery. This exhibition brought together 23 artists, such as Ceizer, Bebar or Kraken, around 310 ceramics bowls. A meeting between art and utility but also an alliance between artist and craftsman. Behind each piece hides a technical and conceptual challenge, that of bringing together art and the utilitarian. At the end of the journey each pieces let you enjoy your coffee in an artistic way. Sailor Jerry and Redbull Organics offered tastefull cocktails with fresh gold kiwis Zespri and a Fils de Pommes cider bar.

HORS-CADRE: show opening & official launch

On February 7th, the digital Art gallery HORS-CADRE was officially unveiled with a grand show opening at the Bastille Design Center.

The exhibition, which runs for four days, gathered 600 Art collectors, Art lovers, artists, journalists and and passers-by who braved the snow to discover 13 artists from the French contemporary Art scene.

HORS-CADRE is an art gallery founded by Manon & Océane Sailly. With the goal of sharing their passion, the two sisters offer collectors a platform to discover and support the contemporary French art scene. The website provides internet users with very High-Dimensional images, filmed portraits of artists and critical texts. Appart from its online activity, the gallery organizes exhibitions in France and abroad.

The exhibition “1230 ° C” created by Camille Zerhat took place at the Iconoclastes Gallery. This exhibition brought together 12 artists, such as Ceizer, Jan Melka or Cyrielle Gulacsy, around an ancestral know-how which for centuries has been witness to many civilizations: ceramics.
This project was born from multiple collaborations around the sharing but also the unknown: that of offering a new support to their art. Porous, fragile and demanding. Behind each piece hides a technical and conceptual challenge, that of bringing together art and the utilitarian. Lunch on a painting could seem senseless, it is nevertheless what proposes this exhibition, through the sale of all models exposed. Every morning, it is possible to pour his coffee into a work of art.
A meeting between art and utility but also an alliance between artist and craftsman.Every morning, it is possible to pour coffee in a work of art. Ceramics is the art of fire, it appeared before the work of glass and metal and this to the Neolithic.

Black SuperMarket Opening Party by Carte Noire

A few night ago, was the opening party of the Carte Noire’s black supermarket. This former supermarket has been revamped for it’s last month of existence into a Parisian nightlight popup hotspot. This new cultural space is in the heart of the third district of Paris. The design was overseen by famous Parisian street artists such as L’atlas, katre, mist or sunset. The closing date is the 12th of February so don’t miss this occasion to discover and be part of the latest Parisian trend.

LAND FOR SALE by Admire Kamudzengerere & Rachel Monosov – Show Opening

After New York, Toronto and Harare, the show Zig Zag Zim will be shown in Paris, at AKAA art fair at Carreau du Temple, from Nov 10 to Nov 13. Works by Admire Kamudzengerere & Rachel Monosov.
Rachel Monosov and Admire Kamudzengerere sit behind a table in an “office or stand” with a sign above their heads declaring LAND FOR SALE. They are packaging earth which visitors can buy in small specimen bags reading: “100% pure Pink Village earth.” The artists invite visitors to learn about Pink Village, a place 25km outside of Harare, Zimbabwe whose mud huts were painted pink by a Western artist in 2015.

Furthering the concept at the core of “Pink Village”, the performance “Land for Sale” is a critique of the contemporary commercialization of African resources and culture. In the same breath, the money collected is actually shared with the village – blurring the lines between positive and negative.

Catinca Tabacaru Gallery opened its brick and mortar space on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 2014. Interested in authenticity, a universal language and the geopolitical environment, the themes of identity, gender and time run deep throughout the gallery’s program. The gallery started CTG(R), a traveling Art Residency program whose first installment took place in Harare, Zimbabwe in 2015, and was incarnated this summer in Newfoundland, Canada.

Boxing is one of the most popular sports in Cuba and its fighters are recognized the world over for their skills and finesse. The Cuban national team holds more Olympic medals in the sport than any other country, making the nation a hotbed of emerging global champions. Compiled over the course of eight years, French photographer Thierry Le Goues spent countless hours in the complex network of training facilities that abound in the island nation, developing relationships with the coaches and their young progeny, following the rise and fall of countless talents and wannabes.
*Havana Boxing Club* captures the sport’s arresting beauty and unrelenting brutality.

Thierry Le Goues was born in Brest, France in 1964 and lives in Paris. Le Goues began his career as a fashion photographer in 1986 working for Conde Nast. His fashion, documentary, and editorial photography has appeared in publications internationally including Vogue and l’Uomo Vogue and much more…

Safia Bahmed-Schwartz Latest Show Opening

“J’aurai du faire du droit, tho Daddy taught me Djihad” is a proposition of artist Safia Bahmed-Schwartz. The exhibition is consists of two parts, one magistrale through a multi media installation in the prestigious Cours Vitrée of the Beaux Arts de Paris, and the one at the Of Nazareth gallery in the center of Paris, near République. The singer, writer, tatouist, drawer, video director, story teller showed a perfect mix of her work, her best videos and drawings, with the famous sentence “it was not erotic only the souvenir is” as a guiding theme, in English for the cinema cliché. And at this occasion she let us discover big screenshots of her own black ink and white erotic movie and her famous ceramic branded ashtrays at Of Nazareth. Once again she told us a story, mixed between reality, imaginaire collectif and her own life story, mixed between realness, fake and fantasy.

Selfies is a project focused on femininity and digital. The online business led by our fingertips via the screens. The visual pleasure and attraction felt for an attractive woman. The emphasis on virtual identity by our generation permit the emergence of various female personalities, usually very assertive. The approval system (liked and followers) pooled by all social networks leads a constant virtual voyeurism and we can observe that online reputation records are held by quiet young girls regularly putting their physical assets forward.

Maya Coline thought the SELFIES perfomance, as an experience suppose to provocated puclic’s questionement. Girls taking selfies of them self, ignoring what’s is going around, a girl skyping across a tv screen, another one perfoming via snapchat, intimitate atmosphère and whispering song as the sound of the girls consciousnesse. It can feel like be in the head of someone, or it can feel like an over egocentrisme time.

Whatever it show us how digital uninhibits manners and how women are now claiming them sexuality as a plenght of strenght and independance. Maya, Clem, Gaia, Jo, Yasmine, Ashley and Angelina, are all different and yet they are all conscious of the power that they have and the possibility get incredible social recognition, by doing selfis.
