G!lf X WYNWOOD WALLS

The Wynwood walls have been enriching the visual spectrum of Wynwood since 2009. Walls throughout this industrial district act as an open-air gallery and have featured some of the worlds most renowned gaffers. This year the show will feature entitled “ Women on the Walls” featuring original works from some of the world’s best street artists.  Keep an eye out for Bushwick- based artist G!lf,  and her work that conveys strong political dialogue and satire, it will make you laugh and cry at the same time.

So if you’re sticking around town in August and in need of some amusement before you go stir crazy and dive into the Seine, here’s a list of reasons to hit up Le Fantôme and ditch your Parisian ennui :

-You’re starving. It’s too hot to cook or you’re feeling lazy : Go there for pizza or high-quality finger foods. Burgers will soon be available in beef, chicken, fish and veggie versions to appease all appetites. Order a salad or tapas if you’re feeling something light, or dig into some fresh burrata — nature,  la truffe or fumé au jambon. Cupcakes, milkshakes and cookies are also on the horizon.

-You have to spend some quality time with G-ma and G-pa, but Sunday brunch sounds agonizing when you’re trying to nurse your hangover from the night before : Take them to Le Fantôme for some boozy Bingo (still a work in progress, but it’s part of the master plan). Well, they can play, so you won’t have to talk much, and you can continue boozing to test out the theory that a beer the next day keeps your hangover away.

-You’ve been holed up in your apartment for too long thanks to PPD, or post-party depression, and you need a place to study, waste time on Facebook or just chill, in order to feel like you did something more productive that day than get delivery food : It’s an ideal place for hanging out at any of the booths or tables, which are nicely spread out so you have plenty of space. When you need a break, you can get up and play some games — it’s like home away from home.

Kavinsky at BMWi launch party

Because Autolib is too prevalent for hipsters, BMW has developed 3 new electric cars; green and fancy at the same time. To celebrate this very special launch, no better place than Le Palais de Tokyo, the modern art temple, with models, actors and socialites around a glass of champagne. The best part of the party was the rooftop garden, with the Eiffel tower view and the incredible line-up (Kavinsky”, Peter-Pan & Get a Room) who gave us good vibes to keep the atmosphere electric (of course) all night.

Villa Scwhepps Opening Party

The glorious early May night you just couldn’t miss! Everybody was there, as usual–the hot top jet-setters and fun celebrities–gathering in the luxury/spacey Napoleon Pavilion to party with Schweppes and listen to the band Singtank and the duo of Briand Scott Bagley-Chichi Menendez. A sort of Cannes preview, perfect to put everybody in the mood for cocktails and bikinis starting in less than two weeks. Happy packing and see you on the Croisette!

Sometimes, in the rainy, depressing heart of April in Paris, all you need is to gather a bunch of friends around some punch, music and springlike prints to cheer everyone up. So that’s what Alix Thomsen did for the launch of her Spring Summer 2012 collection, and we don’t know if it was because of the cocktails or the cool printed shirts, but people actually left the store with a smile on.

Diesel Marais Flagship Opening

Diesel took the opportunity of Paris Fashion Week to open their new Paris flagship. The opening was orchestrated by La Clique (the guys behind le Baron, la Fidelité, etc…) and as expected for this kind of fashion week event, the usual trendy Parisian crowd mixed with international hotties  and Italian-speaking fashionistas.
