Led by Maroussia Rebecq, Andrea Crews is one of the most innovative and now established Parisian collectives in terms of fashion and art. The hyperactive group of girls are best known for recycling second hand clothes into cool, unique, avant garde apparel,  but also for their events and collaborations with brands like Nike or the French cultural retail store la Fnac.

Today Andrea Crews’s leader, Maroussia Rebecq, tells us her favorite spots in the north of Paris where she can be found when not in the shop in punky Belleville

The hotel of one bedroom

1.40 meters wide, in the Abesses area, an hotel of 500 nights that we book by buying an artist’s edition that tells us about the project: a space where artists are the craftsmen. Christophe did the musical selection, Apichatpong Weerasethakul the video selection, Ange Leccia installed a video projector, Florence Doleac the pouffes and Philippe Jousse the dance floor.

Musee-Cernuschi

My boyfriend loves to say hello to the huge black Buddha; personally, I admire the small landscape potteries that inspired Suddenly this Overview by Fischli and Weiss.

Like all the museums run by the city of Paris, the ticket for the permanent exhibition is free!

We go there on Saturday mornings on the way to the Batignolles organic market to eat onion pancakes and drink some Poiret. The museum is also next to le Parc Monceau, which is always beautiful.

El Café Bar

A small bar on the rue Rodier owned by artist Philippe Hernadez, who always has tons of stories to tell. It doesn’t fit more than ten people, but we run into some celebrities in front of their plates of charcuterie or their glass of Mescal

Seoul 88

The totally unfashionable address, one of the oldest Korean restaurants in Paris, cheaply decorated and where the mini emotional boss talks only in Korean and doesn’t hesitate to scream at you if you misbehave! I enjoy the outdated feel of this place, and I strongly recommend the vegetable crepe!

The bar of the Hotel Concorde Lafayette

Located at the 17th floor of the building in a futuristic 70’s setting, a half-amphitheatre in front of a giant bay window that looks out onto the ring road. It’s a bit far from everything but it’s magic, one of the most exotic places in Paris–you feel like you’re in Tokyo,  lost in translation…

Le Foyer des Arts Vivants

There are all kinds of dances–tap dance, hip hop, zumba–that happen behind in glass rooms. You can watch and it’s really great: the meeting between the fauna of les Halles on Saturday afternoon and flash dance. It’s sweaty, I love it, it’s the mix of people and colors against a jumbe background.
