After an exhausting fashion week, you finally realize that you have to give up the idea of boning a model and that you’re definitely on the way to liver cancer. Anyway, you met your comparatively chubby dream boy /girl at the supermarket and you don’t want to miss this opportunity to get laid.

As usual, as the 10DIP crew is here to help you not fuck up your 1st  date. Our incredible experience in this area made this selection of Paris’s best places for a 1st date easier than ever, ’cause we’re there all the time…

  • CURIO PARLOR COCKTAIL CLUB: This left bank cocktail club is more than perfect for a 1st date–hidden, hip and cosy. The great cocktail menu will definitely help the classic, intimate 1st date chat hidden behind the velvet curtain (how many boy/girl friends?, how many times?, how big? etc). Moreover, we sometimes play there, so you could ask for more advice if you’re in trouble.

  • LE CAFE MARLY: Owned by the Costes brothers, this place is amazingly designed in a half modern/half Napléon III style by Olivier Gagnère. This is the pick of this list, a bit expensive but the location is amazing, and with the nice patio open onto the carroussel du Louvre it used to be an actor and journalist hot spot. If your target seems to be a bit high picky, this is for you.
Cafe Marly / 93 rue de Rivoli / metro: Palais Royal

  • L’HOTEL DU NORD: How about a mythic restaurant on the dock of the canal Saint-Martin? Well known for the Marcel Carné movie from the 40’s, you’ll hide your lack of culture by showing off with the story of this place
(do your research before at http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/hotel_du_Nord). A candlelit diner and a quick walk on the dock will lead you halfway to her/his bed.

  • LA PERLE: A member of the team is insisting more than ever for this pick.”It works!”. So if like him your plan is a quick fuck and no sharing breakfast hmm… But for a casual date it’s pretty much perfect. You’ve got a 2/3 chance to meet someone you know and this way avoid awkward silence, the drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is always pretty cool (though it really depends if John Galliano is inside or not).
La Perle / 78 rue Vielle du Temple / metro: Saint Paul

  • LE CARMEN, and more specifically the enormous bird cage in the lobby. The easy metaphor will hopefully not have escaped you… Anyway, this place is one of the most beautiful in Paris. Share a few cocktails in the cage or in the Louis XVI style sofa, and then finish with a quick dance to the usual hip Parisians DJ’s mix. That should do the trick.
Le Carmen / 22 rue Douai  / metro Pigalle

  • L’HOTEL AMOUR: We select this place not only for the practical reasons (bed proximity), but because it is obviously a good place for a first date. You could choose to have a prudish cup of tea on the nice patio during a sunny afternoon, a quick drink at the bar, or a nice dinner encircled by Parisian hipsters.
