We’re not really enjoying going back to work and our Parisian routine (waking up at noon, hangover recovery, nap, first drink in the Marais, vodka tonic in Pigalle, etc) but there are a few things about summer that we won’t miss at all.
Here is our top 5 of why we won’t miss summer 2011 in Paris:
1)No branded parties:
Brands focus their PR efforts in Biarritz and Corsica, so for 2 months they don’t throw money away on cool parties in Paris with loads of free champagne, gift bags, hot girls and cool music…

2)Being unable to enjoy café patios because of Parisian weather :
– After a pointless/never-ending July workday I’m craving a drink, and for the first time in two months there’s no line at le Progrès. It would be perfect to enjoy pastis and cheese but of course in August it’s raining more than during hurricane Irene.

3)Clubs are closed
-My usual booty call is spending her summer at her grandmother’s house in le Lot et Garonne. Drunk as hell, I’ve got no way to find a girl after 2am.
-I can’t find another creative way to spend all my money than on Jameson whiskey at le Carmen
4)Le Marais is full of tourist families
-All the showroom interns, gallery workers, and shop assistants hanging around le Marais are replaced by families of tourists dressed in uncool jeans and tank tops.
-In the meantime, my twitter feed is full of friends having fun in NYC or LA.

where is she?
5)Lack of free spirited/horny exchange students:
All the fresh young things from England, USA, Sweden etc. have disappeared… No more girls looking for commitment-less sex to compensate for the boredom of their pointless classes or to avoid the 20 euro cab to go back to their host family’s flat in the deep 15th.

That’s why I decided to spend the rest of Summer spending my university stipend in New York on a flat in SoHo, pizzas at Rubirosa, and vodka-sodas at Kenmare.
