Opened two weeks ago in the same building as the freshly renovated la Maison de la Mutualité in the Latin Quarter, this chic loft-bistro is definitely one to watch in the Parisian dining scene. Its three-Michelin-star-awarded chef Yannick Alléno, also known as the chef of Le Meurice, pays homage to the growing locavore movement in the city by creating modern versions of traditional Ile de France recipes–only using local produce, of course. With the names for dishes taken from villages of its ingredients’ origin – “navarin printanier d’agneau de chez Morisseau,†a dinner here can also serve as a quick geographical boost for those who are new in the city.
Clean interiors with walls displaying decorative crates with fresh carrots mushrooms and lettuces and in chalk hand-written lists with names of the products and suppliers used in the kitchen adds some sort of romantic country-chic to the otherwise very sleek ambience. Not particularly nostalgic obsessed people are still going to have a good time while observing the cooks in the open kitchen trying to keep their cool or sneaking a peek at the lobby of la Maison de la Mutualité through  a huge window in the wall.
All in all – adorable service, smart crowd and the owner of restaurant sitting next table and offering us to try his red wine made this casual, well-priced good-food bistro certainly worth a try.
