Adrien Wend is the door supervisor at le Carmen and DJ at le Montana. Last Saturday he took us along for one of his regular nights of debauchery: shots at Stollys, beer at Jackets, down time at le CafÃ© de Flore, dancing at le Montana, and ending the night at le Carmen… Â He took some photos with his Nokia Lumia 925, focusing on white light with reference to the album by the Velvet Underground and the recent death of Lou Reed.

Where to Meet: Quentin Veron

For the latest “where to meet,” we spoke with the atypical furrier Quentin Veron in his workshop in the 10th. Trainee-turned-boss of the atelier where he currently works, his passion for fur, springing from his suprizing love of animals (he grew up in an environment based around horse riding), has led him to do haute couture fashion shows during Paris Fashion Week and to dress notorious personalities like Pete Doherty, Vanessa Paradis, and Johnny Depp. He revealed to us the spots where he likes to hang out when he is not working on animal skins.

I always go there for a whisky with a book in hand. The bartender there is adorable and always knows the story behind every liquor or cocktail he serves. I’m not that talkative, but the tiny setting makes it very friendly. It feels like a luxurious place with a local cafe vibe.

Puce de Saint Ouen & vintage shops

Les Puces de Saint Ouen are perfect for inspiration and checking out old stuff. I especially like the taxidermy and furniture boutiques.
I don’t really have as much time to go shopping as I used to, but for second hand items I usually go to Guerissol, Noir Kennedy, and Free P Star.

La Petite Louise and the “fur neighborhood”

The workshop is located in the historic fur manufacturing area in the 10th district. When I walk in the street I feel like I know 80% of the people–it’s like a family. The landlord of the workshop lives just next door, in the street I see my suppliers or friends who are journalists.

A place I especially like in this area is la Petite Louise. Located in front of the town hall, it’s a real local bar where locals come to hang out, as well as bobos from Republique. It’s kind of my HQ — cafe the morning and beer at 7:30 pm on the terrace.

In 2002, established musician Brice–guitarist and drummer in a number of bands,Â including Elevate Newtonâ€™s Theory & Rodeo Massacre–created April 77, a brand for rockers like him. With punk rock inspirations and some collaborations–most recently this October with Mondkopf–his skinny jeans are worn by hipster cuties from New York to Sydndey.

He tells us where to eat vegan burgers, buy records, and play soccer whiledrinking beer.

Americans would call it a dive bar… A little irish pub/sportbar where people come from all over, especially English speakers. The music is 100% inde/punk/classic rock. There we run into locals, hipsters, rockers, alcoholics, artists, people working in fashion. A few months ago I took Karen’O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs there. I think she kept a good memory of it because that night we played soccer in the bar…

Rock N’Roll Voltage

Another indie recordshop, but this one is more fun because of the brothers (I’ve never figured out if they were twins or not…) who are in charge of this shop of heavy metal/ hard rock / hard FM/trash/speed/black metal vinyls.
They are real nerds, and they know everything about everything and have tons of stories about their youth when they were roadies for Poison and Motley Crue.

The Old Egypt section of le Louvre

Better than the Catacombs and certainly less redundant, the Egyptology part of le Louvre has fascinated me since I was a child.
I think it’s important today, in the context of the uprising of the Egyptian population and destruction of the local patrimony, that the museums protect this culture, the ancestor of our civilisation.
Even if we can criticize the sometimes uncertain origin of the museum pieces, today they are safe and will be witnesses for the future generation.
