Adan Jadarowsky is a multitasker, an energizer bunny with an entire drum set as opposed to the usual simple bass. Whether he’s playing a douchebag ex-boyfriend in 2 Days in Paris, singing in front of thousands in Mexico, or directing a music video in Los Angeles, Adanowsky works with passion and focus. When we met for a drink in Bastille, he told me he spent the first spring Sunday in Paris inside, mixing his next album. But he’s far from becoming a dull boy; watch any Adanowsky video and you’ll see an innate playfulness in his artistry. It’s delightfully obvious when he’s singing about loving female knees on the streets of Paris, more shadowed as he ages while running through the desert.

It’s delightfully obvious when he’s singing about loving female knees on the streets of Paris, more shadowed as he ages while running through the desert.

We ate outside at an unremarkable cafe where Adanowsky tried to order salmon sashimi and jus de fraise; he was turned down both times. This man is unafraid to try, which makes him all the more fun when it comes to love.

First tell me a little bit about what you do?Â

I started playing in a movie when I was 8, then I learned tango and I danced for five years. Then I always directed movies, always. Short movies. And then suddenly I decided to sing, and the doors were open. ‘Come here, you are accepted in our world,’ said the music. So I said, ‘Okay,’ so I started to sing in Paris. I was really Parisian, you know. I was singing in French, I wanted to be a French singer. So I started to play in bars and I was kind of underground famous in Paris, in the night. But I didn’t like that really, that wasn’t for me, because I come from Mexico; my mother’s Mexican, my father’s Chilean.

So, suddenly, the singer Christophe, who sang Les Mots Bleus, Aline in the sixties, he called me and he wanted to meet me. So we met and he introduced me to his producer, Francis Dreyfus ?? Francis Dreyfuss signed me my first contract in Paris. He’s from the sixties, he’s like an old producer. And so I did my album. He put a lot of money on my album, he thought I was going to be a huge star. And so I did this album and I was waiting, I was dreaming about being a big star. And no, nothing. It was a flop. It was very accepted by the medias, but no radio, no tour, nothing. So I was really depressed, and one day a guy said, ‘Alright, do you want to go to Chile, to sing in Chile?’ I said, ‘Alright, let’s do a tour in Chile,’ so I found the musicians, the band Gush, and we went together to Chile.

When I arrived there, all the venues were full of people, like thousands of people screaming my name. It was crazy because he’d put a song of mine–the only one that was in Spanish on my album–on the radio, and it was a hit. So when I came back to Paris, I begged to the producer and I said, ‘Please please, I want to translate all the album in Spanish and I want to sing in Spanish please!’ And he said, ‘Alright, let’s do it.’ So I translated all the album in Spanish and I went to South America and I signed contracts in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Spain. And suddenly it was an explosion.

So suddenly, my dream about being a big star, about being Elvis Presley, was a real thing. Because I wasn’t only playing Paris, I was in a lot of countries with a lot of people, and suddenly I was doing the covers of magazines, page one, Vanity Fair, all that. It was like, wow! So I lived the thing. I started to live in Los Angeles, I had my Cadillac, I was living in Echo Park, like a star life, like with a lot of money. With that money I decided to do a second album. It was Amador. I produced it myself, I did it with Rob, who’s the keyboard player of the band Phoenix. And Noah Georgeson, the guy who mixed it, was the guy who did Devendra Banhart and also The Strokes.

The album came out, and it was completely different from the first one, so I said alright, people are not going to like this album. Because instead of going to something really commercial, I did the opposite. I did an album that I like myself, I didn’t care about being famous, or having money. For me it was more important to make something I like, that I really love, than something really commercial. Because when you’re famous, it can end the next day. So I became human again, and I did Amador. And I don’t know how, but I won prizes like Best International Artist of the Year, Best Live Show, et cetera et cetera. And I did a three-year tour with Amador.

And that was in all the countries you mentioned before?

Yes, and I signed a contract, a license in Los Angeles also, with the label Everloving. But the thing is that it was really far from my country, because you know I grew up in Paris. So I missed Paris a little bit, so six months ago I came here and my father asked me to play in his movie. So I played in his movie and he asked me to do the soundtrack. So I did the soundtrack. It’s going to be out in Cannes, the movie.

I also decided to direct a movie, so I directed a movie with Asia Argento, she’s the main character. So now I’m editing the movie, and then I recorded my album with Gush, the two brothers, the Polycarpe brothers. I’m going to mix it now, so it’ll be out in September. And then I directed a video for a song of mine, and I’m going to direct a video in Los Angeles also, now. So I’m directing, and I’m writing another movie now.

Do you think you’ll continue with music, acting, directing, all those things? Or are you going to move more in one direction as you move forward?

Well I’m like an iPhone, so I have multiple functions.

I see, so you’ll just keep multitasking.

Yeah, so the thing is that when you start and you start to do things more and more, it’s more and more and more and more! And after, you’re in this, how do you say, tourbillon. You’re in the whirling and you can’t stop. I work hard every day. In the last six months, I’ve had maybe two weeks of a break. I work every day. Even Sundays.

I thought about something the other day: Even if nothing goes out, [of] what I’m doing now, it doesn’t matter. Because it was such a pleasure to do it! It was marvelous, really. And before, I was doing art to be famous or to have money, but now I don’t care. I just love it.

That’s nice, that the act of creating can be satisfying in itself.Â

Yes, I’ve never been so happy as now.

What would you do on a romantic night in Paris? Where would you go?

In a very good restaurant. I have a friend who says that if he doesn’t know the woman, it’s very embarrassing to have a dinner with a girl, and look at her, but no. I think it’s really good to have a dinner. He says it’s gross because you eat, you’re like an animal. But it’s great to be like an animal. I like to see how a woman eats before having a love story.

Before kissing a girl, I like that. It depends, you know. I go out, I have a drink, I go to a restaurant, I go on a bridge, then I talk. I tell her she’s the woman of my life, then I kiss her. Then we have sex or we don’t have sex. That’s all, it’s really simple. You know? It’s basic.

Do you have any favorite restaurants?

I like Ave Maria, it’s on Metro Oberkampf. And I like also an Italian Restaurant, it’s Casa Bini, it’s very good.

And what about anywhere else in the world? What would be a romantic night?

Argentina, Buenos Aires. It’s a lot like Paris, but there is something [different]. There are bridges, the water, the river, so it’s very romantic. And you hear tangos. Yeah, Argentina’s very good for that because there’s something nostalgic. And love is nostalgic, so it goes well with Argentina.

And why do you think Paris is the city of love?

I was talking with a friend the other day and she said it’s because everyone is libertin here. Everyone is sleeping with everyone. For example, when you go to America and you have a girlfriend, girls don’t seduce you. But here, girls, they don’t care. They hit on you, and they say, “I don’t care, let’s fuck tonight!” They’re really terrible, and men too. They have no morals in Paris. It’s the city of love because everyone is hot here.

So what’s the best pickup line you’ve heard?

Vous avez une belle ame, you have a beautiful soul.

And what would you want to hear from a girl?

My grandfather said, “A woman is a woman, why would you want to talk about philosophy with a woman?” But I’m not macho, I’m not like him. I just need some clever girl with a lot of humor. I like to laugh, and when a girl makes me laugh, I like that. I like having fun like a kid with a girl. Run in the street, do bad things. Yes, I like to laugh a lot. If a woman makes you laugh, it’s because she’s clever.

And what’s the worst pickup line?

Uhh, je peux vous offrir un verre?

What’s the hottest thing a girl can drink?

You know, I want to say my sperm, but you’re going to think I’m a dirty guy. It’s the hottest thing for me, I’m sorry, but yes.

That’s your answer?

It turns me on, really!

Yeah, I can imagine.Â

Oh, you’re talking about alcohol? I’m not going to say a cosmopolitan, because they’re going to think…no, not a cosmopolitan, a cosmopolitan is not sexy. You know what, to be honest, the sexy thing for me, because it’s me, it’s a juice. A strawberry juice. Yes. Because I like a woman who doesn’t drink alcohol. I like a healthy woman. Because my mother was an alcoholic, so I have this thing inside of me when I see a woman drinking, it’s like, “Help, not again! I don’t want to see my girlfriend dying.”

Have you ever seduced a girl with art?

Yes, I’ve used my talent to seduce girls, of course. I would completely dishonest to say I never did that. But I didn’t seduce a girl, because this art is a part of me. So if she liked my art, it’s because she likes me. So I used me.

So you’ve written a song for a girl, or…

Yes, of course. It’s funny that you say that, because today I thought about that and I wrote four songs for four women. The last one is the best.

If you had to choose between a museum, a cinema, or a concert, where would you take a girl?

A museum. It sounds boring for some people, but for me [the answer is] a museum. Because I like day dates, because you can see the skin of the person, if it’s a good skin. No, [laughs] I don’t care about the skin. But you can see, there’s no alcohol, there’s no nothing. It’s real. If I like a girl during the day, in a museum, I will like her in the night too.

So you studied tango for five years. Do you think tango is the sexiest dance then?

Yes, of course. You know, I’m like an old man. My father was born in 1939, and I’m raised like a kid who was born in the fifties, but I was born in 79. I’m like an old man, so I like to dance tango. Tango is great because it’s very sensual, and the girl is receiving. It’s not easy to receive from someone and let it flow. And for a man, it teaches you to know where you go.

And were you in Argentina when you learned?

In Paris and in Argentina. It was a great time of my life. I used to dance every night. During the day I was taking classes, in the night I went to dance until 5 or 6 in the morning. Then I woke up, classes, and the same thing every day. It was crazy.

What do you think about the difference between when you go out in LA and Paris ?

Well in LA everyone’s nice, and like, “Oh yes, great!” Everyone’s like, life is marvellous. Everyone’s vegan, everyone’s healthy, everyone goes to yoga. But there is something fake. But it’s in Paris too, it’s not onloy in LA. People follow the other people instead of following themselves, so yes, it’s like fashion. But they’re more positive in LA in their way of thinking. That’s good, they try. In Paris, they’re too pessimistic. Horrible, it’s like everything is negative. And they’re not as spiritual, they believe in nothing. And no, me, I believe in something. I believe in an energy, in this world…I don’t believe in God, like something religious, but I believe in something who’s next to me, who’s with me. So, yes, I am spiritual. And that’s what is missing in Paris, spirituality. And the sun.

But I like Paris because there’s a lot of culture. Even if the people are negative, they have culture. You can have a conversation with people, that’s very nice. They know the year, you know, ‘Yeah, Bowie was born this year!’ And they know these obscure bands. You can find that in LA too but here, they’re really geeks. And they like to show they know something here. To be raised in Paris is great for that.

What kind of presents do you like to receive from girls?

A romantic kiss.

No, it depends. A letter, maybe. Yeah, when they write me a letter I’m very touched. When I was 15, I remember I used to write letters, and now I write emails. It’s so great to receive a letter from someone. I prefer to receive a letter than a present.

Or maybe they could give me like 5,000 euros, too. I would be very happy.

Yeah, super romantic.

Do you want to add anything before we finish this interview?

Something is lost in this world; it’s the poetry. Yes, because I believe in poetry. For me, the revolution and the future is the poetry. Yes, because it’s the language of the soul. And everything is too realistic today. I like the poetry in everything.

So for example, I met a girl once, on Twitter. She was an excellent poet. And I said, ‘Who’s that girl? I want to meet that girl!’ So I wrote her in the inbox, I said your poems are incredible, I want to meet you. She was Mexican. I said, “Oh cool, I live in Mexico, but now I’m in Paris.’ She said, ‘I’m in Paris too!’ So we met. She arrived, she was a beautiful woman. So we walked, for hours. And then I was like this, talking with her with my hand. And then a bird came and landed on my hand. At first I was afraid but then the bird left, and I said, ‘That’s a poetic act!’ So then we had a story together in Mexico, and she taught me how to give birth to a flower, inseminer une fleur.

You know, okay sometimes I get naked on stage and I do like surrealistic things. But I think I am a very sensitive person. Yes, I am. I cry sometimes. I’m not afraid to say it, I cry. Sometimes I’m weak. I’m human.

He had ten days left in Paris, so fittingly we got an interview with Jeremie Khlat, DJ at Le Montana. He’s moving to New York, but he’ll be back in town for Fashion Week and Cannes, at least.  He’s best friends and sound design partners with Adrien Wend, loves tequila (“I’m drinking patron every night,”) and let’s just say we’re not the first to call him a playboy. Who better to give our readers some love advice?

I met him at his St. Germain apartment, where he was still in his pyjamas at 2 in the afternoon. He ate eggs and smoked cigarettes; we drank champagne.

So first tell me a little bit about what you do.

So I’m a DJ. Mostly I’m DJing right now, like every night, kind of, and traveling a lot. But I used to be an art director, like Adrien. I ran ChaCha at the beginning, for the first two years before it was sold. And then I’m also a journalist; I work at Jalouse magazine, I’m still writing for L’Officiel. For them, party stuff, fashion stuff once in awhile. But mostly now I’ve begun a career in sound design, for shops and stuff, plus fashion shows. And DJing, DJing a lot! Clubs, after parties, in Paris, and a lot in New York, and that’s why I’m moving, because it’s working super well in New York. I need a change, and I’m trying different places.

And you’re at Le Montana full time now.Â

So the thing is that when I stopped ChaCha I was searching for another place, kind of cool, and I was friends with people from Montana, so I took over Montana. I began as a DJ a few nights a week, but then it became more intense, so I became the music director, like booking DJs and sometimes parties, especially for fashion week. Mostly I’m doing three or four nights a week.

What’s the best pickup line you’ve heard in a club?

I’m using a sentence which is kind of cool, it’s funny. I really like this movie Cocktail; it’s this old one with Tom Cruise, from the 80s. It’s kind of cliché, the guy has just arrived in town, he wants to be a bartender, he becomes a bartender, he wants to open a club. He becomes kind of hype and everything. He moves to Jamaica to make money, and there’s this scene in Jamaica, the girl that he loves comes back. In like probably two years, they haven’t seen each other. The girl’s sitting at the bar, it’s like beachy and sunny and everything. The girl’s saying like, “Hey.” The bartender’s saying, “What do you want to drink?” She’s saying, “A beer,” and he’s saying like, “My kind of woman.” But the thing is in French, the translation is “Une femme selon mon coeur,” and it’s kind of funny, so when a girl is like, “I want a beer,” I’m like, “Mm, femme selon mon coeur.” It’s kind of funny and the girls are all like, “Mm, love him.”

Worst would totally be, “You’re beautiful. Want to have a drink?” Shit like that, like everybody’s saying.

Do you flirt at work, or do you think it’s distracting?

No, actually it’s part of the job. When you are director, you have to flirt, every time. But it’s not like flirt sexual stuff, it’s seduction. You need people to love you, to think you have something. When you’re a DJ it’s different because you’re mostly busy, every minute, doing something, touching buttons, so you don’t really have time. But at the same time, when you DJ, there is all those girls who are watching for you and thinking, “Oh, he’s cute, oh he’s cool, blah blah.” So you don’t even have to do anything. They’re coming. They’re trying to find a pretext to talk to you, a song, whatever, a friend in common, to just be around and hang in the booth. It’s kind of funny. But yeah yeah yeah, I’m flirting a lot. I mean when I’m single, obviously it’s night life you have beautiful girls, so yeah yeah, it’s like smiling, touching, dancing, whatever.

So what’s the best pickup line a girl has used on you?

Every night, a girl has come and said to me like, “You’re cute, but you know that.” Shit like that. That happened last week. And I’m like playing the naive one, like “No, I don’t know.”

They always like to say like, “Oh, I saw you last week at this party” and I’m like, “I wasn’t there.” You have to know that about me, I’m super bitchy. I’m not really cool. Because I’m seeing so many people and they try to like talk to you and be around you. It’s funny though–fashion people fascinate all the others, like actors or whatever. They’re looking at you in a different way. You’re just normal people, you hang out you work, you have fun, but they think you’re different. It’s boring. At some point you have to put a limit, because if not there’s a hundred people coming to talk to you every night, and you’re just tired of talking, that’s all. So you become kind of bitchy, to put this barrier. At some point people said I was like pretentious and everything, but you have to do that.

I don’t know, last weekend a girl came and she was in the booth and she was a model and she was kind of cheesy, like hang out at VIP room and all the stuff, you know, so I’d never seen her. She came and talked to me and asked for a song and I was like, “Nah, I don’t have that.” And she was like, “Yeah, but still can I talk to you?” And I said, “Yeah, sure.” And so she came in the booth and she sat and she like kept asking questions, and I was DJing and so busy and not being able to really talk, you know. And she said to me, well it’s cool to meet you and I’m like “Yeah, I haven’t seen you at Montana, it’s weird.” And she was like, “yeah, this is the first time.” So I’m like, “Well, cool. Also I’m moving to New York so this is probably the first and the last time,” and she’s like, “When are you moving to New York?” I said, “I’m moving in two weeks.” And she’s like, “No, it’s not going to be the last time I’m going to come every night.” So that’s a funny thing.

Yeah, that’s cute.Â

We’ll see tonight, though.

I mean, they’re not really good at that, girls. I think we’re better, boys. We grew up that way [having to flirt], so we needed to know. Girls, they just come with the heart and the smile and the, “I like you.” And you’re like, “Cool.”

Right, they don’t play the game as much.Â

Nah, not really.

So what’s your favorite thing to see on the dancefloor? Is there a certain sexy way a girl could dance?

I really love the New York style, like how a girl wears clothes, and how a girl dances. It’s less girly, it’s more crazy, gay, punk dancey stuff. I used to say I met a girl once and I fell in love with her actually because she wasn’t dancing in the beat. It was the opposite. She wasn’t in the beat, and it was so cute. [At this point he puts his arms up to imitate her]. So yeah, I love to see girls dancing, and how they move like crazy, punk, underground stuff. I don’t like girls dancing bitchy; I hate that.

Wait so dancing bitchy is like what, like hips? All the hips?

It’s horrible! It’s unattractive, it’s unsexual, it’s vulgar, and I hate vulgar.

I’m trying to think though, what does that entail? Like getting down on the ground kind of thing?

Yeah, like [Jeremie stands up and sticks his ass out] ass, like trying to be sexy. I think we like more–like with this generation of hipsters–we love people dancing with rock and roll. It’s more aggressive, it’s more telling a story, living the song. They’re not trying to impress, they’re just happy about the song. Even if they don’t really know how to dance, it’s cool. It’s just like, moves. Moves are always better than trying to make a dance. Moves are the best.

I remember not during this fashion week, probably the September one, I met two girls, two Italian girls, they’re doing fashion, launching some magazine. I don’t know which one, they were hosting a party at Maxim’s a few days after and so they’re coming to Montana. And I’m like, “Damn, it’s been a long time since I’ve met people like you.” Two girls–I thought they were straight but they weren’t–dancing together but in a punk way. So into it, like on Joy Division stuff, like on drugs, like in a fucking other galaxy. And I was like damn, this is so amazing just looking at you. I’m just happy, my night is done now.

Sometimes you meet some people that have an aura, something different that lives in themselves. And it’s really cool. Sometimes I meet people [who’re] kind of crazy. Drugs help, I’m sure.

Okay, so you think American girls are better dancers than French girls?Â

Uh, you can’t say that because in America they’re all slut dancing, but cool American girls coming to Paris are better, yeah.

Is song requesting ever a good thing?

This is the nightmare of DJs. The joke about that is like at Montana, we wrote a paper where it’s written, “No Requests. I’m not a jukebox.” And everybody sees it and now when people come ask I’m just showing the paper and I’m not even talking. So yeah, it’s a nightmare because it’s always bad songs, it’s always like, “You have to play for the clients!” You don’t. You’re the boss. They don’t understand that. It’s inappropriate, it’s annoying. They don’t understand also that sometimes I’m trying to explain: “You come, but you know a hundred people come. What if two hundred people come, every night, asking for a song? I’m playing what I want!” Still, sometimes when people are cool you can talk about music stuff and play something they’ll like if you like it, and if it’s cool if it fits the atmosphere or the moment of the night.

Right now, if a girl were to a request a song, what would you be happy about?

Actually I have a super amazing joke about that. We were at a Purple party, I’m DJing with Adrien during this fashion week. Party is amazing: best people, crowd, dancing a lot. And at the end of the night, it’s less crowded, and there is this amazing girl. She’s a model, she’s French, she’s dancing. And she’s that beautiful that we keep looking at her for like 20 minutes and we’re like “Who’s this girl, we need to talk to her.” And right after we said that, the girl is coming to us: “Hey, do you have like deep minimal house?” And we’re like “Okay whatever go, go away now.” And so it was the thing. Like sometimes when girls are cute but they’re asking you shit songs, you don’t like them anymore.

But, what about they come and they ask you the best song ever? You’re like, oh my god she’s cute plus she’s probably cool. So the cool things are mostly rock and roll, indie stuff. The girl who comes and asks me for New Order? I’m like come come come. Come here and give me your number.

I don’t know, like rock and roll stuff. It proves you’re simple, you’re cool, you have this way of thinking. And I’m really happy when girls ask for indie because it’s not really dancing music and people listen less to indie music here in France than they do in New York. And it proves also that we have kind of the same taste. So yeah, indie music is cool. I kind of love disco, like super happy mood. So I’m DJing a lot of disco. And also I love when people ask me for old hip hop, like 90s, 2000s stuff.

What’s the hottest thing a girl can wear in the club? What clothes do you like to see?

I said that to a girl, a week ago too. She was flirting with me, and asking me that: “What turns you on the most?” My answer could have been really sexual, but actually I said to her, I love a girl in pants, with a white [tank top], without a bra, dancing. And I’m just like, that’s fucking beautiful.

So yeah, simple. I really love girls wearing man’s stuff, or being kind of manly. My ex-girlfriend was super hot, tall blonde, cool girl, but she was wearing pants and a t-shirt going out. And that’s the cool thing, like you’re grunge, you don’t give a shit. I love like girls without big boobs or whatever, like manly like Lou Douillon. Like, you know, those girls just wearing a perfecto and it’s fun. But still, like an amazing dress on a  girl can be amazing and super sexy, there is no rules.

Do you think it’s possible to find love in the club?

We have this discussion often with friends of nightlife because we’re like, we’re meeting a lot of girls–we have an amazing job for that–but at the same time, could we meet the right one because this is nightclubs? And even if she’s here, she’s not going to be in this mood. She’s here for having fun, she’s here for like a make-out, getting drunk, meeting people. I would say two answers: obviously not, because you don’t even think she’s cool if she’s coming to hang out that much. But at the same time, what about this girl, she’s working that day, she’s never going out. And there’s this dinner thing, and then after she goes to a bar, and then after she doesn’t want to go to sleep, and at 1 am she’s saying, “Whatever, let’s just go to a club and dance!” And this is this night. You never saw her, you meet her. She never goes out, but tonight she’s here, and she’s cool.

I met my other girlfriends a lot in nightlife because we were in the same world of fashion and nightlife, and DJing, too. You meet people because they’re doing the same thing as you, they hang with the same crowd and everything. I don’t know if I’m going to find the girl of my dreams in a club. But the thing is, I’m not working in an office. I’m not having lunch every 12 am day. I’m in clubs every night, so this is my territory, this is my job. So I hope cool girls will come in clubs too. And there are cool people coming in clubs, but there are also girls you never see because you spend your life in clubs, and you miss all the others. You can’t have everything.

There’s one night a year when you are not envious of all your single girlfriends–those friends who are always hanging out in what appear to be fun, lavish places-to-be like le Baron, Silencio or le Montana while you are stuck sipping hot chocolate and watching another episode of Mad Men with your boyfriend. This night is la Saint Valentin/Valentines Day.

But so much pressure… for the first time in months you’re leaving your DVDs and your boyfriend will take you out to a classy restaurant, maybe followed by a fancy cocktail in an hotel bar.

So we’ve come up with a to do list to make the night a success–giving you a valuable reason to not regret missing nights of debauchery with your friends on a weekly basis.

(This article can also be read by those single girls who want to spend Valentines Day on a date with the random awesome guy with whom they shared a taxi/bed last Thursday.)

Chantal Thomass

OK it’s a classic but just to remind you that even if you’re hot in your American Apparel bodysuit, you should bring a bit more for this night. The Parisian cult lingerie brand is at the top of the fantasy wishlist of every normal straight guy. Chantal Thomass is definitely the first place to start your shopping efforts.

Chantal Thomass / 211 Rue St Honoré  75001

Studio 34

Located in a courtyard near place Vendome and recommended by Parisian it-girl/bloggeur/model Jeanne Damas, this salon was founded by Delphine Courteille, who used to work backstage at the catwalks during Fashion Week. It’s a bit expensive but isn’t hair a woman’s richest ornament?

Studio 34 / 34 rue du Mont-Thabor 75001 /Â www.delphinecourteille.com

Colette

When it comes to getting undressed, it would be stupid to end up sexually turned off because a song by Lana Del Rey comes on the radio. It’s precisely for this reason that Colette released a CD simply named Colette SEX: one, Lana won’t break the vibe and two, it was made for loving.

Colette / 213 Rue Saint-Honoré  75001

Hotel Amour

Ok, we know that it’s over-cliché to put this hotel designed by Andre on the list… but nonetheless very important! Really, is there any point of buying fancy lingerie, having an overpriced hair cut, and buying an edgy, sexy music compilation if the aim is to be banged between two cars or on your sofa? So the easiest thing to do is to take your phone and your boyfriend’s credit card and call l’Hotel Amour for a room plus breakfast.

Hotel Amour / 8 rue Navarin 75009

Klay

Has your boyfriend grown a bit fat since you met him? We’ve heard that yoga boosts your sexual appetite, and we’ve also heard that the overtrendy Klay gives great yoga lessons. So you know what you’ve got to do.

4 Bis Rue St Sauveur  75002 / http://www.klay.fr/

Klay

Marlies Dekkers

And to finish your shopping excursion, go back to where you started and the most important item on this list: lingerie. Don’t forget that if you don’t get a present for your boyfriend, it’s because you’re the present. Just head to St Germain des Pres to the boutique of the Dutch designer, who works to give a dominant, femme-fatale look to the nearly naked women she dresses.
