There is always more to experiencing art than simply seeing what’s hanging on the walls. We meet art, we create a dialogue around it. With every encounter, we are influenced by the context, the timing, and the subject matter. This concept has been taken head on and manifested into APPARTMENT, an exhibition venue and living space created by Nathalie Miltat in her 10th arrondissement loft.

As the apartment takes on the art, the reverse is also achieved, toying with every sense as the seam between the two becomes invisible. Every detail has been immaculately put together: the home fragrance filling the room, the young man playing the grand piano, the floral arrangements gracefully dotted about. It’s an invitation to conversation; an invitation into the beautiful home of a stranger with whom you’re about to get quite intimate.

A home where the art vibrates full of life.

Thursday night’s vernissage opened a one week only prélude exhibition called <<Sinon, le chaos>>, a teasing taste of all that’s to come. From September 2014 to May 2015, APPARTEMENT’s first season, top-notch art critic and curator Timothée Chaillou will put on five single-artist expositions. The multi-artist prélude, also designed and put together by Chaillou, beautifully juxtaposes and lights the flame to a formidable season of art and experience.

Be there.
