Some like it hot
Bistro food malaise? Say hello to Le Tiffin, the Indian joint in the Bastille neighbourhoodthat’s trying to add some colour to your drab Parisian diet. The decoration is kooky, with akitschy wall mural and a hodgepodge collection of retro furnishings, but the food, a nod tothe fast and light Indian lunch, is simple, pure comfort. Pick one of the daily caris, servedwith basmati rice or stuffed in a kati roll, and choose from a variety of accompaniments likelentil balls or fried vegetables. We recommend the kati roll, an Indian-style wrap made withchapati, a soft flatbread baked fresh on the premises. The special sauce left just the rightamount of tingly heat where it counts, but the most pleasant surprise was the chapati filledwith nutella. If you like your curries like you like your … well, just ask for it spicy, then washit all down with a cool mango lassi or a drink at the restaurant’s patron bar, Le Motel.
