On thursday the 15th of December, MAD agency was celebrating LA SIRA’s 6th birthday. La Sira is an epic 4000m2 artist residency dedicated to contemporary art in Asnières, and is a key player in the Parisian art scene hosting studios for 28 top young artists.
This was the occasion for a great party with Paul Armand-Delille of Polo & Pan on the decks and a very diverse crowd of friends, artists, curators, art dealers, musicians and designers. For the occasion , the top floor had been transformed into a dream collector’s apartment by Marion Duclos-Mailaender an on-the-rise parisian interior designer who had created 4 different spaces, a decadent marbled bathroom, a 70’s lounge covered floor-to-ceiling by shag-rug carpeting, a fake marble bar and a huge 80’s inspired bedroom. All the pieces came from artists of la SIRA and included the works of: Luka Arbay, Ivan Argote, Spencer Ashby, Bobby Dowler, Garnier & Linker, Kate Groobey, Ren Hang, Angélique Heidler, Thanos Kyriakides, Thomas Mailaender, Hubert Marot, John Miserendino, Laurent Pernot, Richard Prince and XX STUDIO XX.
To accompany the night was the first presentation of Chez Mohamed, a new gallery founded by Anatole Maggiar which was presenting a 1:1 scale model of the booth it is taking to Material Art Fair in Mexico next February, showcasing tales of bromance, love poems and men’s balls(!) in a curation entitled ‘Macho Alfa’!
