Less is more at little Frenchie
You’ll feel right at home in this intimate wine bar opposite famed gastro-bistro and sister restaurant, Frenchie. Décor in between industrial city loft and old-world cottage makes for th impression that you’re invited into chef and owner Gregory Marchand’s private studio space where a tiny one-man kitchen prepares Frenchie’s simple, fresh, yet refined cuisine in bar food form. Terrines, foie gras, in-house smoked fish and homemade tarts play up the chef’s signature use of seasonal ingredients and accompany one of the city’s most exciting wine lists. You won’t ever want to leave this lively little hideaway once you make it inside, thank to its dim, but convivial atmosphere and eclectic playlist varying from jazz to classic rock to old school hip hop. Sure, you won’t have to wait two months for a table, like at Frenchie, bu with less than 20 seats at this already hyped-about dining spot and no longer well-kept secret expect a line. Don’t worry, you can always cosy up to friends of the barmen or hang around outside with the fashion foodies who have now taken over the hidden rue du Nil.
