Pigalle has became one of the most visited districts of Paris, but how to find one’s way amidst all those peep shows, sex shops, and old-fashioned bars? The 10 DIP team has concocted  a small list of its favorite places.

Chez Moune

This mythic lesbian cabaret of the 30s was taken over two  years ago by Andre and the team of the Baron. It‘s now a hotspot for anysexual hipster electro parties and fashion week after-parties.

However the club has become somewhat of a victim of its own success as it sees itself being left by some of its regular customers.

Carmen

The Carmen lies in a 19th century beautiful mansion, classified as a “Historic Monument”, about which the legend says that George Bizet composed his famous eponymous opera there. Stop by to savor elaborated and original cocktails, for example revisited cocktails with absinthe or foie gras. The parties succeed one another with a wild rhythm, dj sets, live indie performances, other happenings…  With an audacious cocktail menu and an eclectic and sharp programming set against a backdrop of luxury, the Carmen is an unavoidable place of Parisian nightlife.

Le Sans Souci

A small neighborhood bar which seems like nothing much in the day, Le Sans Souci fills up and does not empty when night falls. Situated between the Carmen and Chez Moune, it’s a good place to pop in for nice, cheap beers before finishing the night in one of the surrounding clubs. You risk finding us leaning on the bar.

Hotel amour

Tables and chairs by Charlotte Perriand or Jean Prouvé, rooms fitted out by André, Marc Newson or Sophie Calle, Terry Richardson’s photos on the wall–no doubt about it, you are in the trendiest hotel of Pigalle, even by Parisian standards.

It’s a charming place for breakfast after a night of love, a drink in the lovely garden or dinner before heading off to Chez Moune or le Carmen.
