Tuesday is Monday’s ugly cousin, but after consuming  a few whiskey sour’s  served up at Mary Celeste’s Grant’s cocktail party, she started looking much better.  The team behind Candelaria, Glass and the Mary Celeste presented with tantalizing cocktails, appetizers fit for gluttons and a crowd of industry insiders, babes and beau gosses alike.

To celebrate the release of their EP «  » in an informal way, Fauve chose to invite their fans to a barbecue party at la Miroiterie (20e). They showed they are as humble as they are talented, and took the time to talk with the attendants.

The latter had indeed braved the rain, and were quite well rewarded for their temerity!

One bite into these crumbly, moist, succulent puffs that are prepared-to-order in front of your eyes, and you’ll be saying « Ladur-was » and « Pierre has-been » before you’ve even swallowed.

La Maison du Chou is the sweet culinary brainchild of two-star Michelin chef Manuel Martinez, dubbed a « Meilleur Ouvrier de France » for his puff-pastry prowess. The specialized pâtisserie is tucked away in the quaint Place Fürstenburg and has a classic old-school feel to it. Sleek wood tables, parlor flooring and a simple, minimalist décor make the place feel open and homey, the way a maison is supposed to be.

Each puff is injected on the spot with your choice of a light cream mixture that resembles a mousse made with sugar and fromage blanc and mixed with various flavors, including chocolate, coffee, and the classic “nature” for those who prefer the original model. Another flavor is offered according to seasonal ingredients (strawberry, raspberry, pink litchi, etc.) always fresh and always organic, to reassure the health-conscious foodies whose indulgence prerequisites include « bio » at the top of the list.

So go on, take a puff of pleasure, and revel in the creamy, crunchy high that will make you an addict and give new meaning to the phrase « afternoon delight. »

The exhibition Mode.cz brings together Czech fashion designers from the School of Applied Arts in Prague, with French photographers (Collectif 5.6).
At its base was the idea that the young artists of today’s fashion cannot exist without a cutting-edge presentation and appropriate marketing.
As we were admiring the beautiful photographs, some girls in the crowd definitely made us wish we spoke Czech.
